game won't start

I click the "play" bar, and the game "play" bar turns blue like it's trying to start, but in a few moments returns to the "play" button.
I can't be the only one afflicted by this issue. I tried a google search and nothing helpful came up.

The most frustrating thing for me is that I can't find any settings or configuration file to attempt resolution changes, windowed - vs - full-screen. And my post is more than a month old and no one from the company has seen this post?

Thank you for your suggestions, but yes, I attempted all of that and even other measures before posting here. doesn't matter what resolution I set my desktop to, HDR is not an issue (I leave it off, but tried putting it on and off).
why is there not a configuration file/settings file that can be edited to allow users to perhaps solve this problem.

i have the same problem with it not sure if it's NVIDIA issuse because none of there games will start

I've been running nVidia cards for all three games and never had an issue. I've run both AMD and Intel CPUs, so that's probably not it either. I play with a regular user account.

Do you have a program running that alters the way Windows looks? I had Stardocks WindowBlinds installed, and the game would not launch until I unloaded it. Also, you can try running the game in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 as that fixed an issue for me once.

I disabled/unloaded WindowBlinds and that worked.
Finally the game actually plays
