I had already reached 90% with all chests found except 1.
Probably all keys found, except that the last four were found after I no longer needed them, lol, while I was stumbling around searching for the last chest, which is also how I found profiles 7 and 8, but I was still 4 profiles shy.
Kilroy's guide solved those 5 issues quickly, plus showing the third way to encounter Evie.
If the ease with which I solved my issues is any indication, Kilroy's guide is well worth having, for anybody struggling or for anybody into the game part of it enough to want to finish.
I had completed about 16 of the puzzles but I am not into chess enough to slog through any more than those, so the guide has been great for plowing through the puzzles. I stopped after number 30, to open the chest and look for a shady character hanging out in the Squallmart parking lot. There he was. I had gained enough gold talismans from puzzles to pay for the picture of Evie that he offered for sale. So, cool. Time to finish the other puzzles.
For anybody playing: Stop and try some fishing off and on throughout the game. It's a great diversion and by the time you get to the puzzles, you will already have become the world champion sportsfisherman, and won't have to do it all at once at the end.

The only puzzle I suggest purchasing the Snake idol is number 38. Something has changed since release that makes that puzzle almost impossible now, and it was difficult before.
The guide does have a recommended path to treasure hunt, that makes about $200K every five minutes.
