Stuck on Kayak license

So, I am trying to get the kayak license to show up at the mart but it does not seem to want to show up. I looked at the guide and believe I have done everything up to this point. The park ranger is standing outside the mart waiting on me. I read the kayak tips in the library as well. I just don't want to have to start over again. Please advise.

I can' t say I'm 100% sure anymore how i experienced it, but if I remember correctly I had to talk to Emily and ask if thery sold kayak exam forms.

I tried doing that, but she tells me she still needs a part timer to replace her and we still need ingredients to make the love potion stronger, since it could be even more improved. We have already worked the potion twice so after the anal scene it will be the 3rd try.

Strange. Things seem a bit out of order. What does Evie say ? Youd did talk to Priscia about the Maca plant already ?

Yes, I did that as well. She is waiting on that. But I cannot cross the river until I get that license and finish the test/biz with the park ranger.

Evie tells me to go to the mart and talk to Emily to see about getting the license exam.

I believe you need go see Alia and convince her father to let her work at the store. Once that is done, Emily will give you the actual exam paper, you need to answer there or four questions right then hand the exam over to the park ranger,

If that is the case, then Henry must first help Sam to close the cave in his backyard. But I think you need to get north of the river to get the components for concrete. So that would be a catch-22.
Anyway, if this is so then it should be possible to check it in the walkthroughs.
Otherwise, it looks like Emily is confused, and it may be necessary to restart from an earlier save.

I 'm doing a new runthrough and just now got to the kayak license at 24%. The sequence started with an exclamation mark on the library, prompting me to go there. There I found Priscia searching for info about the macca . Then I went to Estero key to find Michael discussing with Sam and then explaining the kayak procedure to me when Sam left.
From there I went to squalmart where Michael was already standing in front of the entrance. Upon entering, Emily directly came to me and we talked about the potion and that there was probably another missing plant. I tell her the macca grows in cape vedra and she wants me to bring it. The exam form then appears spontaneously on the shelf.

The matter of hiring another clerk has not yet been mentioned at this stage. So it does look like the sequence of events in your game has been mixed up. Not sure if it is possible to repair this, so restarting from an earlier save or from the beginning may be needed.

(24% is not too terrible to restart, I guess. I now always keep a save file for every 10% of the game)

I advanced a little bit further now, got the kayak exam and went north to find the maca plant. Then only after giving the maca to Emily and testing the new potion, she says she needs a part time help in the store because she needs more time to complete the potion.
So that phase comes only after you have already used the kayak to go north.
So something must be severely broken if you're already past the point where you have obtained the maca, but have not yet crossed the river.

pretty sure its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up when you talk to emily while having maca plant in your inventory that messed up the timeline

That means that the inventory has been fiddled with, because maca can only be found north of the river, so only after you go through the license process.

I can confirm that all of the issues that develop almost exclusively with Emily are due to altering your inventory and more specifically in regards to adding the plants to your inventory too early. There are cues in the coding of the game that seem to change map files and are started when you acquire different plants. I've tried this with money, talismans and keys and it does not happen. So, if you are going to use the inventory cheat, do so without adding plants to your inventory. I would even play on the more cautious side of things by not adding keys to your inventory either.

I got stuck on this mission too, I also tried Booty Call and nothing helps
