Patch notes
The Pioneers is a complex game that involves many interacting systems that are generating bugs. Be sure that we are 100% commited to offer you the best experience we can. We will publish regular patches to fix issues, as long as we work on our content roadmap and community additions. Please find in this thread an overview of what has been done so far.

  • Implemented a safety feature that prevent a character from deviating his curve when climbing
  • Maggie can no longer shut down while the roof is opening which was an major source of bugs

  • New character: Akiko Takada
  • Added a queueable action. It is now possible to use the main airlock when planning your tasks
  • Keyboard shortcuts are now displayed in various tooltips to help you master the game's controls

  • With the arrival of Akiko, character skills have been reworked. Check out the new character sheets before setting your strategy!

  • Balanced carbon drills and rare earth drills costs. It is now necessary to spend advanced resources to build drills.
  • Started to add more challenge to hunger management by adjusting some values:
  • Increased the cost of processing fruits into food rations (0.5 -> 1)
  • Reduced food rations stored in the first loot (9 -> 7)
  • Slightly reduced food rations loot rate

  • Reworked hand drill visual effect: more visible laser and particles!
  • The name of each crew member is now correctly displayed in the main UI

  • Implemented a first batch of fixes to make climbing action more resilient. More will come in future patches.

  • Jetboots now improve move speed

  • Decreased oxygen leakage on large breaches (10/sec -> 5/sec)
  • Reversed last change on starting food rations (7 -> 9)

  • Improved game settings: temperature units. Default unit for US/UK configurations is set to °F

  • New feature: carry a crew member. This is a very rough first version of the feature that the whole community has been waiting for. This one will certainly save many lives!

  • Characters now start a mission with a personal item

  • Storm alert is now triggered when the electric charge VFX appears

  • We tried to give you more breathing room between two earthquakes without reducing the overall difficulty curve of the current game by balancing two values:
    - average time between seismic period slightly increased
    - average speed of magnitude rise slightly increased

  • New buttons in UI left bar: station inventory shortcut & placeholders for future updates
  • Improved video settings: you can now switch between several monitors

v0.37.01

  • Automation's upgrades are now available on processing machines. You can use them to batch the desired amount of material to be processed
  • You can also now queue automated and non-automated processing tasks
  • Deep rework of the looting gameplay. The crates are now specialized, visually distinguished and distributed differently on the map. The farthest loots also usually contain better rewards
  • Characters now appear in game in the order in which they were selected (when setting the mission)
  • Added a new defeat condition if the mental health of all characters (or the last one) drops to zero

  • Added a "support the game" button in the main menu and in an easter egg in the station's hub
  • Added a hierarchy system to the action menu to navigate through different levels of commands
  • Polished action menu animations

  • Added a leveling system to Twitch voting options. The extension is now better balanced and more interesting for both viewers and streamers. Please tell your favorite content creator to give it a try!
