How come? It should have been more polished by now, no?
Have you noticed that these people do not own this game? Please ignore the trash talk that's being spouted from their fundament. They are depriving you of a great modern retro experience that is being offered on sale. It's a narrative shooter, in a beautifully realised retro aesthetic. If you have played the System Shock remake, then you'll love this game. If you have a pc that'll max out the settings on a 4K monitor, you'll experience real gaming pleasure.
While you are considering your next game, don't overlook Ion Fury, and it's expansion, Aftermath. In fact, Ion Fury is now the established masterpiece of the boomer shooter genre. I offer you advice both as an owner and a gamer.
Ion Fury and Phantom Fury are just as enjoyable to me, as the latest ray traced games, like the Resident Evil remakes, provided you have the appropriate rig. However ray tracing is not everything. For example ray tracing in Amid Evil was garbage, both in performance and visual fidelity.
Not sure why you mention ray tracing for amid evil of all things. It’s a far better boomer shooter then phantom fury could ever be.
As you see, these people just don't let up. They are the sort who'll tell you your mother is ugly. It's a mental condition, one of deep resentment, that causes a kind of brain damage in the poor soul suffering it. No amount of perfection will ever cure such a degenerate mind. In fact, it would make the condition worse because it would darken and deepen the resentment. EVERY game I love has it's detractors, and heck even I'm a strong critic of the games I love. A good example is Fallout New Vegas. For all it's flaws and crappy graphics, it's still a masterpiece and I would wholeheartedly recommend the game.
I haven't gone too far into Phantom Fury, but from the start it's looking great. Shelley is a tough chick, one whose character is convincing and cool enough to enjoy. I think the graphics are beautifully done. The colours are lovely, and the world is presented in what I think a perfect balance of retro and modern graphics. A good monitor helps greatly so if you have an OLED or MiniLed, all the better. I use the mighty Asus PG32UQX that brings the game to life with Its unrivalled colours, record high nit brightness and almost OLED like contrast. I also own the Asus 42UQ OLED, so I can judge for myself. I swap between the 2 monitors as I feel like it, but I'm enjoying MiniLed more.
So for me, the game is GREAT, played on pc with i9 10900k, Auros 3090 extreme, Gskill 32gb ddr4. The game is displayed on the mighty PG32UQX. All I can say is. based on my experience, with a quality pc, I highly recommend you buy and enjoy the hell out of Phantom Fury.
Lol, my 3090 is still such a beast that its kept my i9 13900k and Aorus 4090 Master still in the box!!!! Forgive my flexing but it'll help rub the salt still further into the wounds of those resentful little termites.
Anyway, the artwork is nice, some of the coding is alright, but there are some glaring bugs, and the scripts that were written for the voice lines are terrible (and also sound like they could have been written by some AI system). Sadly, there is no budget or staff available for further updates so it's current state is as good as it will be.
It's not as bad as Kingpin, and it's mostly playable. It's alright, and it is better than most of the negative press that it received at launch time, especially after the two quick patches that followed. I don't regret playing it, but I wouldn't call it a stellar knock out of the ballpark or anything.

Yeah that's right, take the most generic criticism ever made, that applies, from A to Z, to every game ever made, seriously????? Even better, from people that don't even own the game!!!
On one side of your brain you saw me mention Phantom Fury, and on the other side of your brain you saw me mention Ion Fury. However, and this is what makes you so special, nature has gifted you an extra special neural circuit, called S_T_U_P_I_D that connected the two in ways I never said, or even thought about. Well done!!!
