Erm... why?
Why should gamers care about whether a company's employees have a very corporate, professional business attitude when privately talking amongst each other?
Like... would you like Half-Life or Doom less if you learnt that the developers swore a lot or were rude about journalists?
publicly shutting down constructive criticism isn't "bad private behavior". it's creating an echo chamber.
The main lesson here isn't "wow they're being mean behind the scenes!", it's to show you how little they care about actually improving in their craft and delivering a good final product. If the flaws of Phantom Fury are sounding at all familiar from their other projects, shouldn't that be a wake-up call to them at this point? They can't take criticism? Boo-hoo, maybe delay games before you release them at a bareboned state.
Look, I won't stand behind bad or unfinished games, but try to see from the developer's side. Even it there was a case of mismanagement from the higher ups, or lack of clear gameplay design direction, you name it, but a lot of people poured their hearts for months or years into making the game. I guess you can expect their response to be very emotional or in denial to such harsh criticisms - ESPECIALLY among themselves, because, again, this is their private Discord. No one develops a game while saying "haha this looks like crap, let the sh*tshow begin when the reviews get out". They're human beings FFS.
the screenshots from my post are public, in the #phantom-fury channel.
Hoo boy, there are TONNES of people who now like older games less because it turns out that some of the devs were less than stellar human beings
I backtracked in a later comment.
also I don't think romero or gabe ever said people were idiots for disliking their games, even for something as bad as daikitana was
you clearly haven't if your takeaway was that he hates the game, because he doesn't. off topic though.
The amount of pain you feel because I dont join your silly hate train is making me feel all fuzzy inside.
