Any of the folks who were hating on him for his take on Phantom Fury's demo feeling bad yet?

It doesn't look good, but it's not nearly as bad as what he was predicting. Jarek is probably more accurate with his review, there are good points to this game. But it seems like there needs to be a serious redirection in gameplay.

Wrath’s issues is the stale gameplay after the first act. Not a bad in compared to kingpin no but that’s a low bar. Issue is strong opening then rushed second half and bugs.

People put way too much emphasis on what reviewers, who get paid to play games, think. The game isn't even out. It's weird to declare the game is definitively bad just because it got some bad reviews on YouTube. I don't even agree with most people on YouTube. Why am I going to start with this game?

People like civvie don't get paid to play them though, he gets paid yes through patreon, but he buys the games himself.

TBH I don't know if I'll buy it this time, I was let down by GRAVEN and (to some degree) WRATH already.

So yeah, Phantom Fury being full with bugs and not being fun it's not a surprise.
Hell it even carried with it problems that GRAVEN had, like softlocking.

You keep saying influencer... No bro, before i decide to fork over 25$ for a game i can't try i will see what people that have played it think of it and judge from that point on. I wanna know if i will be softlocked in the midle of a campaing or if i have to restart a level because i get stuck on a wall 4 hours in, of after 7 hours the game becomes bland and boring. Graven was garbage so was kingpin reloaded and i really disliked wrath past the first episode so yeah, i will see what others have to say before buying anything else made by Slipgate

He could be. I could be wrong. He never struck me as the guy to take a deal from some company personally.

I didn't say he was infallible, I am capable of disagreeing with him sometimes. All I said was that I didn't think he was paid to give a game a certain score.

- this is just a minor addition on corporate behaviour when it comes to advertisment via "influencers". As i said games that Civvie covers are either extremely niche, old or outright abandonware. Unlike 'strayan chap i dont remember Civvie ever covering fresh AAA slop.
