CryEngine 2 is a single threaded engine, ie. it only runs on a single core regardless of what CPU you have, so I doubt that is the issue, or if it is it's an issue unique to Ryzen CPUs
Many games runs better today with Linux, thanks to Valves strong support to that platform.
Proton allows running Win only games on Linux just like those would run on Windows itself.
Make a dualboot system and see how much better things are working on a open platform.

Also completed a playthrough of Crysis with no stability issues after which I installed Crysis Warhead.
I will be looking into a way to run the 32bit version of Warhead
