Hey peeps!

Sorry for this issue, we are working on it! In the meantime, try these workarounds:

All I see is a black screen when starting the game. How to fix?

* Your antivirus might block the game: Add an exception allowing the game, or disable antivirus temporarily to test.

* Verify game files in steam: Right-click game in steam library -> Properties -> Installed Files ->Verify integrity of game files. If your antivirus ate some of the files this will also re-download them, but it might also help if it's not your antivirus.

* Try reinstalling Easy Anti Cheat: Right-click Neighbors in the steam library -> Manage -> Browse Local Files. Run "UninstallAntiCheat.bat". Then wait 1 minute. Run "InstallAntiCheat.bat"

* Run game as administrator: Right-click Neighbors in the steam library -> Manage -> Browse Local Files and run "start_protected_game.exe" as administrator

My game closes every time and say you need to start Steam but i have already started the game trough Steam (with this code IW-10005)

Same black screen issue here. After multiple PC restarts, file re-installs, youtube videos, driver updates. Along with following this post (verified the files and reinstalled anti cheat). Still the farthest i have been able to get is IW-errors but its mostly black screen on launch. Now i should disable my antivirus? Waste of time. Will return so it not a waste of money as well. L release, L devs. Was excited too, unfortunate.

The release date was the 17th right??? Guess you enjoy buying unfinished, unplayable games and hope they work later? Idk gl with that

Sorry about the issues! A lot of them seems to be caused by antivirus programs. But rest assured that we are working hard to solve it.

Looks like they might have wanted to put some additional effort beyond the beta. I have also tried all solutions on two different builds at this point. I even have troubleshot beyond developer recommended solutions now. The game launches just fine even without admin mode from the .exe in the folder...but, notes to launch steam and will close. Anytime it is launched from steam and after all steps taken with or without admin mode for the exe in the folder set black screen no additional logos after EAC loads. I am no game developer but, failure to launch without extensive testing on the platform of choice speaks very loudly.

I had the same exact problem as stated above by Sner - I have Norton anti-virus. I went through these steps to be able to get it to work. I disabled my Smart Firewall, Auto-protect, and behavioral Protection under advanced security. After that i uninstalled and re-installed my Easy Anti-cheat then "Verified integrity of game files" that seemed to allow me to launch from Steam regularly. LMK if this helps anyone:) I was frustrated for over an hour and finally got it to work
