How is this so well reviewed?
I haven't played this since the Wii U version, and it was the biggest waste of what should have been a no-brainer use of the Wii U gamepad ever. I remember it being terrible, to the point I felt insulted for buying it without looking it up first.

You slowly but surely, over the course of like 25 trips, run up the same damn mountain! The ghosts are cool, but you see them every damn trip up the mountain to the point where they don't even phase you anymore! I do not recall the story anymore, but I recall disliking it for being nonsensical and shallow.

Is it because of the see-through clothes? Or are people just that level of desensitized to weirdly erotic stuff in their horror that they don't notice it? I assume it is a standard case of devs putting their fetish into their product, but it really made it seem like there was going to be a plot point about almost dying of hypothermia at some point.

It is well reviewed because it is a good Fatal Frame game - great horror atmosphere, well design map environment & visuals, having decent lores & weirdness that makes the series and comparable to previous games, the best obscura camera gameplay of all, new memories of the ghosts contribute to their existence and story.

And you must be new to the series thinking running up the same mountain is long, when we literally spent days in the big old manors and village going back n forth, circling around every corners just to see if there is single change to the area (items, hauntings, etc.), and there is always a few locations that have ghosts constantly spawn, every. single. time you passing by.

Indeed, there is a little bit fan service on water, but they were never the selling points cause Xtreme Venus existed, and if you actually pay attention to the story, it makes sense on the gameplay and story wise.

And people had and have played it just fine with WiiU gamepad, then the same with either gyro control or traditional stick aiming on modern platforms.

In other words, I think it's a you problem, not the game, but it's okay if you dislike it, just don't be a petty whining on others who enjoyed the game.
