This game released last September. We won't see the next installment until the summer or end of 2023, and that's being optimistic. It most likely will be in 2024.

There's no way it can take that long. Games like this are pretty common now and they seem to release big updates every few months. It'll vary depending on the update size and scale of the dev team, but it shouldn't take a whole year even. If it does, the dev needs to pick up the pace and hire more people.

I guess it would be based on the game itself. With Being a ♥♥♥, a season takes about 2 years to come to steam while College Kings releases are much faster (but the story isn't at good). Perhaps this will be different. Time will tell.

But BaD is developed by single person. Not by company and due to Patreon, DPC now significantly increased the speed of development, so episodes 4-8 (season 2) took approx. 1 year. So I am also skeptical to the fact, that it should take so long. And if so, something is very wrong.

There's a difference between "doing the thing" and "doing the thing - WELL".

Furthermore, there's plenty enough situations where you can't just pile on more people (personality conflicts, etc).

Things take as long as they do - you're certainly in no position to rush them.

On the contrary, DPCs speed decreased over time. Quite significantly in fact.
Not sure where you got the 1 year for S2, b/c EP.8 alone took around 7 months (4.2021-11.2021)

Totall agree! I rather have quality than speed, and this game is high quality as per my standards. I'd like more animations here and there, but the quality of the drawings is very high, without using the classics seen everywhere Poser3D models.

You have to considered that writing isn't easy. Often someone will come up with an initial idea, which fuels their creativity and drives the development of the early chapters. Once that plot line matures and is exhausted one has come up with new ideas and develop the story. It's easy to write bad stuff, but good writing takes time, creative energy and inspiration. Having said all that, the best thing the developer can do is communicate, managing expectation is often the best way to avoid disappointment...

So I noticed that "Love Season: Season 1" has been removed. Now it's just "Love Season". What's the deal? What happened to season 2?

Chapter 7 is done and we're already working on Chapter 8, almost finishing it 😎
