How to heal Old Whitebrow?

I have 3 titanite, cleared all the enemies including the pink scorpion. No idea what to do next. Another side quest of deciphering the map is pending because of this.

You need to finish Styx main quest. To unlock special npc.

I think you might need more Titanite. It seems to be a rare random drop from Rock monsters (either the big ones or floating things). I think I had six before talking to Shaye progressed the quest. Then at this point you talk to Irenaeus (the aforementioned NPC)

5 titanite to be exact. For farming the lake seems to be a good place. Keep resting and killing floating thing until you have the desired count.

You need 6 (not 5) Titanite and an NPC from Styx on your base - you'll know which NPC
