Well you are asking if the game is the same to it's core and that's the case, if you have more questions feel free to ask. For exemple if you wonder if the game is finaly hard then the answer is: No.
Well there are still bugs and crashed depending on your PC.
Animations and such still looks janky along some othe feedbacks.
The Ai is pretty simple thus can be exploited and people will confirm you that the game isn't very hard even on the hardest difficulty.
In the end you spend your money how you want it but I'll say skip this game, it's fun at first but then it get boring pretty fast and I should know boring/grinding stuff since I play Disgaea games and XCOM games.
Also you shouldn't take a pause for this game because the questlog is pretty bad and there is no map so if you don't have the game in mind when you return you'll wonder what to do and have no clue about the secondary quests you were doing........
Your attacks feel fast and fluid, but very weightless, enemies barely react to anything you do, even if you hit them with their elemental weakness, so unless you like looking at health bars, you won't notice any progress in what you do in combat.
AI, it's ok I guess, it works, but enemies can be abused... like, minotaurs that use pillars will try to chase you, but after some range, they'll turn back and walk back to their starting post and completely ignore you (at least elden ring enemies walk backwards and will try to attack as soon as you're back in range).
At least the game doesn't try to hide the story from you with no real reasons to do so, you're given the main plot, dialogues reveal your objective, and only item descriptions/plaques are used for world-building, but not as the main story telling device, which is very appreciated for a game that desperately tries to be dark souls lmao.
But again, there's no real journal for you to remember where you left off.
I really wanted to like this game, but it's really hard to remain engaged.
If you want another game that has similar graphics, difficult combat but is not burdened by its desire to be dark souls, I recommend you play Kena (in the hardest difficulty) instead, it's fun, easy to get into (but really challenging to master), straight to the point.
You are welcome, sorry dr.salvation19 explained it better than me, I tried.
This is one of the best games released in the last few years, despite it going mostly unnoticed. It definitely does try to push the Souls-Like angle pretty hard, which honestly holds it back... but the story / characters / worldbuilding is amazingly good. I believe it should be played for that reason alone, even if the combat gets a bit repetitive.
"A bit repetitive", like there is 6 weapons you get very soon after the beginning.
The rest is just your opinion, for me The yakuza/Kiwami is better than Asterigos, there are 7 games, then 2 spin off, one of the greatest series and it doesn't get boring after like 1 hour unlike Asterigos, plenty of mini games, good story, and it's not over since Yakuza 8 and a spin off is coming to PC.
I've got most of the Yakuza games, though I've not got around to playing them yet. I will eventually though.
This game though.... it didn't even begin to bore me until NG+. And I think you judge it harshly for all the wrong reasons. The story and characters are more than enough to make up for the lack of variety in the gameplay. It is the opposite of Elden Ring in that regard, which has tons of gameplay options but the story is one-dimensional nonsense.
This isn't the sort of game that benefits from multiple playthroughs, but that first playthrough is awesome.
As I've said it's your opinion, by playing better games I have a different opinion than you, so Asterigos story is pretty blend compared to games like MGS series, Yakuza series and many more.
Elden Ring easily beat Asterigos, in everything. Sales proves it.
This game is far more well-written than the Metal Gear Solid games. And again, Sales don't prove a damned thing as far as quality goes. Take Baldur's Gate 3 for example. One of the most popular games of the past few months, yet the story is utter horsesh!te, the characters are dull and unimaginative, and the gameplay is atrocious.
So... long story short... you've just proven that you have no idea what you're talking about, and your opinions don't count for anything.
