My strong advice is to direct your hype somewhere that deserves it. MT is no Menace, no Xcom, no JA, no Phoenix Point. It's gonna be a small janky tactics game that hopefully does 1 or 2 things well.
Often those are the best games! Wish you great success
I can understand that you don't want to get anyone's hopes up but I'm looking forward to your game more than Menace, although it's in my Steam wishlist too
Considering how the Xcom devs were basically flying by the seat of their pants with no idea if people would even like the game, i think your not giving yourself enough credit.
At least from the store page this looks like the game I wanted out of Phoenix point and didn't get.
I'm saving this for later when your game becomes a homerun GOTY for me personally.
well since the 2 demos i played - the game allready do 1 or 2 things well, a few more from my point of view :)
keep on and take your time!
Should I remove from Wishlist then? Seriously there’s honour in being humble but that’s a bit too much.
When JA first came out, it was little more than a janky tactics game, so there...!
Sorry it was a flippant comment from me. But it's also brutal 100% honesty. Objectively speaking, I think this game has a decent tactical layer. That's why the demo got people excited and the hype train began. However, I think most tactics games have a good tactical layer. It's a given right? And in my exp, it's the easier layer to develop. It's basically just chess + dice.
Instead, I think the strategy layer is the real test of a good tactics game. This is why people still play 1994 Xcom and 1999 JA2. And why I'm obsessed with it. So I would temper your hype until you see my strategy layer and try it in a demo. (And if it's good, I will be the first on the hype train. Until then I am cautious.)
Thanks again for your support!! Almost 4 years, but I am still fully motivated and the game is in best shape yet.
