Should I play Prodigal?
To clarify, Imma play it regardless...

But! I really love this setting and I want to see more of this world in Curse Crackers.
I want to know if the game Prodigal also takes place in the same world, and if so, in the same time? Or a different era?

I want to temper my expectations going in.

Different worlds, same universe. You'll notice several direct tie-ins playing one to the other. Curse Crackers does take place at least a few years after Prodigal as well.

So yeah, go have fun. Most the lore is specific to the game's own setting but it does have tidbits that work for both games.

Ah, a different world but same universe you say?
That is interesting. But good to know! I would have been trying to build a lot of connections that weren't there, lol.

I will definitely enjoy it, I think. Thanks for the reply!

There is one character who appears in both games (and a few others), but because of the time difference between the two, her personality is a bit different, and it also reveals a certain choice from Prodigal that is canon (while hinting at another). Both games also have lore that makes more sense when you've seen them both.

Also, Ledamra (Curse Crackers) is much more bright and colourful than Lyrian (Prodigal), so be prepared for the change in tone. I wouldn't say Prodigal is more dark and gritty, though, at least not compared to other settings.

I think I've spotted this character. I wonder what that's about...
Very interested to see how this series continues.

I'm usually not too interested in "cross dimension" types of stories, but then again Brandon Sanderson is one of my favorite authors so exceptions have happened lol.

Even though I have no intention of answering your silly question, I have decided to respond anyways.

I think Prodigal is really something special, especially as a player who grew up on the GBC Legend of Zelda games. It has an absurd amount of postgame, kind of like this game but way moreso, and it has a lot of interesting worldbuilding, including some tie-ins that have been mentioned above. It's definitely worth checking out if you liked this one.
