figured I'd leave some brief feedback as well - I absolutely love the concept, but my main gripe would be that you absolutely have to give the player to see a preview/overview of the room. Te movement is far too fast-paced to ask the player to play reactively. Aside from that, the only other thing that stood out were some bad framerate drops, but I think that's okay in a pre-release demo.

Looking forward o the full release, good luck!

Hello Rafaaaa!

Thanks for playing, you really took the gamefeel and flow in hand. It's super nice to see :)

Hope you will have fun when the game releases!

30-40 fps with 1440p on RTX 3050, seriously. Optimization is terrible(

Hi Sakagari,

Thank you for the feedback.

We are working optimization for Elypse as we speak, the game is still in development.
Performances should not be as low.

Can I ask you what is you gaming configuration?
It could help us pin point the issue :)

Best regards,
- Hot Chili Games

Ryzen 3700x RTX 3050 64GB RAM, the game is installed on the ssd
This was a lot fun! As said above, you need to let us check around the rooms, maybe using the right stick. I often had to jump randomly and ended up falling to my death because I couldn't see where I was going to land. The gameplay is also super fast paced so it's even more annoying than usual.

Also, performance was quite bad sometimes. Especially towards the end of the demo with all the lava. My framerate dropped to 60ish (from 120) during some of the demo sections, and was using 100% of my GTX 1080Ti, at 1440p.

A game with these visuals shouldn't run that bad, Ori and the will of the wisps never dropped under the 120fps cap I set, and never used 100% of my GPU.

But this is a demo, so I hope y'all can improve performance before release.

I agree, it should be possible to move the camera up and down and see where you move next. Because the save points are not very convenient.

yeah, there's a ton of small but glaring issues that really piled on to make this feel... not great, which is a shame 'cause it looks cool.

the aforementioned camera issues, for one, but i also am baffled that your attack doesn't recharge on touching the ground - why do i have to dash to recharge it? especially in cramped combat rooms. it just feels bad.

the jump also has a weird arc, you go up really fast but then then just stop and have a standard curve downwards & that feels really stiff to me

lastly, if death is always gonna be one-touch, checkpointing feels really sparse to compensate for it. if this were a later-game area maybe but as the first few levels of the game it feels weirdly punishing

i also had performance issues, which is weird for a 2D game, but was able to get it running decently in a window... doesn't solve the other problems i had with this, unfortunately
Nothing constructive to add but I really enjoyed the demo. The game is fun!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all this precious feedback!

So as announced we are indeed implementing a camera panning for release that will allow you to check around rooms.

For performance issues, we are aware of them and are actually working on optimization. It's the last big chunk of work before release.

We're doing our best here and really wan't to create a game with a great feel and universe, listening to our community feedback.
But we are a small team of 5 people so it takes time.

Don't forget to check the community hub or our twitter @Hot_Chili_Games for news about Elypse development!

We wish you the best.
Sincerely,

-Hot Chili Games.
