The Parasites

The Parasites

different demo than what i saw
So i've watched a youtuber play this game in two separate videos. the weird thing is that the first time he played it was the version with the countdown timer. but the second video that he uploaded it seemed like it was an updated build. it had more QoL features like pressing tab and seeing what was in the area to pick up since it can be very hard to visually tell. and there was no countdown timer, either. so i'm wondering what build did he play? was the update scaled back? the game is pretty cozy to play and has a ton of potential. maybe put more emphasis on the unique system of the parasite/absorption stuff to make this game stand out from stuff like The Forest.

The steam demo is very outdated but will be updated once it goes through all the hurdles that steam places upon devs. Right now there are 2 versions you can download. The itch,io version that has the same restrictions as the steam dated but is up to date and the patreon version but you need to pay $10 to get the most updated alpha version. The patreon version is what you saw that youtuber playing.

ah, thanks for the answer. yeah, this particular version on steam definitely feels super outdated with a lot of small tedious issues that make the game frustrating. shame to hear that steam is what is holding back the updated version. hopefully, that stuff is taken care of soon. because i know the updated version will win over a lot of people.

weird that the dev seems to be going heavily towards the nsfw and sex content directly. i guess that makes the game stand out but it's also kinda weird considering the environment we are in.

I don't understand it either. As if all porn sites were paying. this is another level off sickness

How is it going towards sex?

click on the link someone posted up above. it takes you towards the dev page. you'll also get slapped in the face with very sexual clips on the side showing what the dev is working on.

it probably was always meant to go towards sex, this is just most likely the first update that actually added sexual content

it just seems like the game is in the midst of an identity crisis because of that. people that are playing the game seem to not care about the nsfw aspect of the game because it's a survival game and that's the draw. forcing the sex aspect is just a weird add. the game having fan service is acceptable. but the extra step seems to clash with the game's initial identity/genre. but i'll guess the feedback will prove that in one way or the other. fan service in these kind of games work. The Killing Antidote proved that. but going into far coomer territory general will niche the hell out of your audience.
this is going to be a scam 100% asset flip in the image of the forest

well, the big difference is that i don't want to play Forest because i don't like fps games. this game is third person and is therefore more accessible. and i know i'm not the only one that feels that way because even Capcom had to release their fps game in a third person mode because of the amount of feedback. so this developer at least wins in that area if nothing else.
