Clank!

Thoughts
Clank is among my favorite board games. I own every expansion in physical form. Getting this was a no-brainer for me. I realize this will likely fall on deaf ears, but there are a lot of simple (and some not-so-simple) changes that would improve this a lot.

Where I really feel like you missed was multiplayer.

The lobby system is flawed. I don't mean with lack of players, that will sort itself out over time with the addition of features people want. I mean broken. You can literally get to a point where you can't do anything. I created a game with friends, and one AI. I went to re-make the game, but we later decided to remove the AI and just play with us, and I genuinely couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't undo waiting for them. I couldn't cancel the game. I couldn't even back out to the main menu without quitting the game and launching again. How an interface that literally dead-ends the user made it into production is beyond my comprehension, but it sure exists. The lobbies also fire immediately upon all expected players joining, there's no "readying up" like most games have, giving people a chance to choose their avatars/colors. Just super basic functionality that shouldn't need to be requested. But seriously, a dead end in the UI is embarrassing.

The single player challenges and heists are pretty great. Those should be game options for multiplayer. Especially as a custom game. Custom games being a matter of "how many players, and pick a side of the board" is pretty minimal, even for an initial release. Especially with the faults in the logic of the AI players. You utilize the digital medium well in modes like doubling the companions, the draft, etc. Let us do those with friends.

I greatly enjoy base Clank. But some of the necessary improvements go without saying, and I assume are on the way sooner or later. Of course, the expansions (even Adventuring Party, or at least the characters from it), Clank Catacombs, etc, all are things players will want. That doesn't need to be said. I also understand releasing it prior to those being ready. I'm giving Dire Wolf the benefit of the doubt and assuming they're coming. I understand these can take time. I imagine cross platform was in the pipeline first. Hopefully we see those get cranked out in the near future.

Overall, happy with it. But look forward to patch notes.

So as I take it, the multiplayer lacks players and broken.
The singleplayer has no progression system (opening new cards, higher ascensions etc), bad AI, quite low amount of cards and interactions (judging from what I see on youtube, and we all understand that if there were more content, it would have been advertised on the steam page).

multiplayer would have more players if there was more content and everyone will be sick to death of existing content when and if they release more so those who were dedicated from the start will just be back in the same boat. they should have just waited until they had all the expansions ready to go and released it all at once for more money and it would have been worth it. i'm going to come back and play whenever that is but it's just depressing that leaving early access was nothing, i've been counting the days since it came out telling all my friends how sick it will be and to just wait but now i'm just not going to mention it lol ughhh. why did the early access thing say they plan to add more content and modes, everything is the same since the start. i just uninstalled, hopefully we get a roadmap that says new stuff asap
