Esp. with crossplay between steam, iOS and Android it is even better now, the last major update also fixed some annoying bugs. Worth it imo...
in my opinion making a video game adaptation of a board game without any local multiplayer doesnt make sense, you'd just do like in the old days of n64 and play with honor by not looking at the cards while it is someone elses turn just like you were not supposed to look at the box from other players in goldeneye multiplayer
My husband and i play this online together via 2 laptops in our livingroom,
but yes it does currently have to be purchased per player.
and now that it's out on IOS and Android Phone/tablet stores it does make it easier as not everyone needs their own pc/laptop in the room now.
and i get the honor system idea, and not wanting to buy it multiple times.
although this is definitely a game where private hands are important.
I have played games in the past where this was allowable and it is was nice to have.
But if you already have the physical cards I'd recommend just pulling those out for playing with a group at your place, there are good free level and battle counting apps out there. I recommend "Munchkin RPG Level Counter" allows for keeping track of the whole group, setting which level you want the game to end at, an etc.
This digital version is good for finding people to play munchkin with easier,
Before you say but they would lose money, the card game and expansions are purchased once and played with multiple people.
Will be a pass for me too until there's heavy sales.
