Is Cheating allowed?

Yep....very good question. The main point why i love this game is the "everything is allowed which isn't specifically forbidden by a rule" mentality.

Well, in fact, if you didn't play this game with complete laymen, then any cheating was punished with a sick slap on the arm, real munchkins have a diamond eye.

You obviously don't cheat from the beginning but the more players you have and the longer the game goes on ppl will stop noticing if you have two hats on or are carrying three big items or didn't unequip something after you changed your equip for a combat.

Good to know. When I was introduced to the game ppl actually told me I could and should cheat because everybody tries to too. When I explain the rules to future players I will omit that now from the rules.

I'm curious how one would cheat in a game like this?? Are we talking outright 'I Win' buttons or like a mulligan or what???

passing cards to player under the table was one way... making one shot items "magically" appear back in your inventory after use was another way of doing it.... I have seen it all my friend. lol

Actually cheating was never allowed in the game, it was a joke made by the team.
They even went out of their way to explain somewhere that it is a joke and they never have and never will actually condone cheating in the game.
Pretty sure there are several "cheat" cards that were made after this fact as a nod to the original rules for players to use and have a laugh about.
If you play this game with your friends and attempt to physically cheat, you are not playing within the rule set, you're just being a butt hole.

I did this once in the Tabletop Sim version. I, too, was originally under the impression that cheating was allowed if you didn't get caught, but in TTS, we were playing with just the vanilla game, no expansions. 5 players, it was a lengthy game, slow-ish turns, nobody was paying any sort of attention when I reached over and just pulled all the cards from the first expansion out and started digging through them for something good to use to stop someone from winning that had been (in-game) bullying my character the whole time. Somehow nobody noticed the whole deck of expansion cards just laying on the table afterward, or the icon from the expansion on the card. Fun times.

I disagree. All my friends don't know that this was a joke. Explanation: We are German, we don't do jokes in the instructions. So if I play with my friends all of us will try to cheat.

One of the games with the most house rules is probably Monopoly and I don't think anyone played this with the actual ruleset.

Wasn't there even a rule what happens when you get caught cheating? Somethink like the player left to you can draw 2 cards?

I also always played the game with cheating, trying to cheat without getting caught was the most fun of playing munchkin
