[PI] Third ending
So I managed to do both endings, one involving letting upperspace transport hub complete normally and one sabotaging the generator with the Children of Nature prototype. However I can't seem to get the lower subspace bomb past security scanner in to use it -- any hints on how to achieve the third ending?

the only thing you cant get past the scanner is the battery in the bomb. Dismantle it and find a new powersource while inside.

Thank you so much for the response! Is that an option via the inventory? I don't get any options to dismantle when I look at the subspace bomb in the inventory

I know that looking at some other posts there is a part where you use the lower subspace bomb on a conveyer belt of sort and maybe you dismantle it there? I am specifically referring to however the PI planet exihibition of the upperspace drive demonstration (with the chill pills, teddy bear power, transporting waste machine, VIP lounge etc).

What you have there Perks is fine looking Lowerspace disrupter bomb. That specific modification prevents it from being dismantled. There is no real reason for you to bring that bomb into the Pi Exhibition. They are displaying an Upperspace prototype. What you should have done is bring a lower space bomb (before you got it modified) to disrupt the Pi Exhibition. Looking at your situation now I realize we should have made the Lowerspace bomb dismantle as well for consistency. Hope this clears things up.

The issue here is that you cannot expect what happens when you go on Pi. The modified bomb is for disrupting the lowerspace so it should probably be left on the ship. But I agree that it should probably be stopped at the scanner. To stop the prototype you need either the unmodified bomb from bosman or the the disruptor the CON give you, plus the battery from the teddy bear (which you can keep if you don't disrupt the prototype but has no use afterward).
This part for me is kind of confusing because I ended up not sabotaging anything and now I'm stuck with bombs and disruptor in the inventory, banned from Lyme and the Spacegate and no other options.

Ahh i think the confusion arises from the fact that before you modify the bomb so that it becomes a lower subspace bomb, you ARE supposed to use it at Pi. However I'm assuming AFTER you mod it, instead you use it at the spacegate.

But you may want to go to Pi anyway and you still have the option to sabotage the prototype. But after you leave, you are banned from the spacegate. If you want to use it or bomb it you have to go there before going to Pi. It's not something you could expect.

If you head straight to Pi from Lyme, you can sabotage the prototype using the device from the CON (you don't need any battery for this). Since you can't dismantle the other (modified) bomb, just put it in the locker while you're there.

Once you've dealt with the prototype, leave the planet - not only will you NOT be banned from the Spacegate, you'll get a ticket to use it too. As the scientist would have explained to you, Bosman doesn't actually care HOW you deal with the prototype, as long as it's dealt with. So as long as you head straight for Pi from Lyme and complete this task, you're fine.

After that's done with, you can head to the Spacegate whenever you want to either use it or destroy it with the modified bomb.

Just do NOT go straight to the Spacegate from Lyme unless you want to fight some Lyme military ships.

I'm currently playing on another platform and this is the issue. Once you modify the bomb, you can't do anything on Pi.

I met Bosman, agreed to bring the bomb.
Found the Scientist, got him to modify the bomb.
Set off for the Stargate and got absolutely wrecked by the Lyme warships.
Rocketed back to Pi with my tail between my legs. did everything I could until I had to enter the event.

I now have a modified Lowerspace bomb and a Prototype Sabotage Item that I have to check into a storage box to gain admittance to the event on Pi.

I figured out how to beam stuff backstage and picked up the empty package at the VIP.

I can't dissasemble anything, which seems to mean I can't get anything into Pi and I should stop trying? I think that I completed 75% of two different questlines and locked myself out of 2/3 options.

I guess I have to shoot my way to the Stargate.

I just left the event and got the third ending - Transport Hub unlocked. I also received a Stargate ticket. *Shrug*

The modified lowerspace bomb is of course not required for the exhibition anyway, as it will now only work on the spacegate. So the fact you can no longer disassemble it is irrelevant.

The prototype sabotage item doesn't actually set off the detectors so you're free to bring that into the exhibition (the detectors only detect power sources such as batteries, I guess the freaky CON people created a power source that doesn't get detected, or it doesn't need power, or something unexplained).

So just bring that item in with you, then get it backstage somehow.

Also, not sure how you got a free Stargate ticket out of this if you didn't sabotage the prototype, pretty sure that's not supposed to happen...

So I got into the event and did all the exhibitions, got backstage access. I never triggered the event. The bomb was useless anyways because it was a lowerspace bomb. I guess I could have allowed the event to continue unsabotaged. Maybe next time. I guess that is why I got the stargate ticket when I left the planet?

I couldn't shoot my way through the blockade at the stargate so having a ticket was irrelevant. I humiliatingly limped across space the slow way. Beelined to Earth with 18 days to spare, then immediately regretted not doing more in the system before triggering the end.

After a disastrous first playthrough, it can only get better right?

OK that's really weird, because the transport hub unlocked is supposed to only occur if you go ahead with the presentation but don't sabotage it. It's supposed to unlock some fast-travel gates/portals, but from memory they all head in the opposite direction to where you're going, unless you want to back track . So I assumed that's what you did... which still wouldn't explain the ticket though (you DO get an "entry pass" for the Stargate so you can use the lowerspace bomb - one of the scientists would have given that to you after they modified it - but it only allows entry into the Stargate, not use of the Stargate).

Since you managed to get backstage access, that means you would have been one or two clicks away from sabotaging it - if you had brought the sabotage item from CON with you (you can't bring the lowerspace bomb with you anyway due to security).
