Red hand container doesn't break

Initially I thought I was doing something wrong or missing something, but all the videos I see where you first get the red hand, the container smashes, exposing the hand which you just pick up.

When it falls for me, there's broken glass around, but the frame of the container remains and you can't get the hand.
