The thing is, even on "Low" settings my game suffered with sttutering, i had to lock the fps at 30 to get to play it.
And even when the room was empty, or there wasn't that much of particles to process the game dropped to 20 even 11 fps.
Ok, my PC isn't high end, but i can play callisto protocol on High, 1080p.
Chapter 1 and 2 runs smoothly, the chapter 3 and 4 are a disaster, be it story wize or optimization.
Judging by the young audience that unfortunately insists on being amazed by this franchise, i kinda thought they gave a huge step on displaying decaying corpses, tho, that's it, the atmosphere is there, it's good, but still, they added a ton of new characters, just to not be relevant at all, or to die in the most lamest way possible.
The nightmare critters for an example, they did NOTHING in the entire game.
They just created the nightmare critters to sell them plushies!
Unfortunately MOB is in it's confort zone, they know they will sell cause of their name, and that's it.
Hell, they made a whole update in chapter 3 due to markiplier's complaints.
They noticed some plotholes in chapter 3 and tried to fix in chapter 4, wich is good.
But damn, the level design, the gameplay design..is..horrific...
Cant blame the audio design tho, the audio team are doing an superb job since chapter 3.
That's the point, too many characters added, that are irrelevant in the end.
And for what? Just for merchandising.
Yarnaby per se, was an wasted potential.
We had to flee and hide from him, but the level design didn't help, it wasnt objective.
Compare it to mrs.delight level wich is fun and objective.
I got the feeling throught the entire game that, every puzzle, every boss fight was played on a random map, you just needed to figure it out of luck or tiresome try n' repeat.
Baba chop chop fight is an good example, hell even the Dr's "fight" is an example.
I believe we were supposed to fight Pianosaurus, tho due to the backlash from FNAF community, they got rid of the whole fight.
It's just a theory tho.
Many FNAF fans said that pianosaurus was a copy of DJ from security breach.
I know right, but FNAF still has a bigger and heavier name than poppy.
Hope they dont step back on their decisions in chapter 5.
Not gonna lie, i got to play chapter 4 the "seven seas" way, yar!.
But that's cause my wife and I bought chaoter 3 on release.
And man..what a disappointment...
it reads like a lot of mascot horror, where everything is kept deliberately vague and unsatisfying in order to serve as theorybait while backing themselves into a corner as they run out of ways to drag things out and have to start actually writing a proper conclusion. batim is a good example of this kind of storytelling blowing up in the writer's face and creating more problems than it solves, but so far i see no reason to suspect poppy's playtime will end up the same way, at most i expect the ending to be kind of underwhelming at worst. we got a proper resolution on ollie's character so we know they aren't afraid of answering questions, they're just holding off for now (although considering there are only two chapters left i'd argue they're waiting a bit too long). the biggest red flag is that a bunch of mob's staff left/got replaced, but chapter 4 turned out relatively okay despite that so we'll have to wait and see.
in that regard, i'd say poppy's playtime had a bit of an advantage there, since they had a team of people working together on the story, whereas for most of it's existence fnaf has had one overworked man developing the story hastily in order to appease a rapidly growing fanbase (there's no excuse for what he did to security breach though, that was just senseless sabotage for the sake of it).
all of that said, poppy's playtime is worse because they tried to gatekeep lore behind NFTs lol
