Drop item button doesnt work (spoiler)

Im stuck at the segment with the Harley Sawyer robots and I cant drop the battery to open the vent, any idea on how to fix this issue?

I just found a fix lol, simply hold down the left click

so.. is there any fix for this? i tried doing this ^ and changing the keybind it just simply doesnt work

just hold down M1 for a second

Hold down LEFT mouse click for 5 seconds; to drop the item in your LEFT grab hand. Similarly, to drop your item in your RIGHT hand, hold the RIGHT mouse button for 5 seconds.
