Chapter 4, flare hand and purple hand gone in foundation

so when we went across the pool of electrified water, our purple and flare hands disappeared and never came back., now we are in the foundation and both the flare hand and purple hands are still missing and we need the flare hand to explode the nitrogen. is this a bug or what is happening? help!

Did you ever figure this out? playing this along side my daughter and this happened to her while playing

You will have to restart just before the electric water and redo all of those chases while checking you still have the hands throughout the chases. It is and annoying process but that is how we were able to get through and finish the game.
