Why the Prototype Killed CatNap?

So... We know the Prototype is collecting parts of all toys. After killing Huggy in Chapter 1 we assume the Prototype collected him to use as part. In Chapter 2 we kill Mommy and the Prototype appears to collect her parts. In Chapter 3 we DON'T kill CatNat, he sacrificed himself for the Prototype, but why? Why did the Prototype decide to kill him at that moment? It isn't like he was out of combat, we burn him but he still can move, he could still attack and kill us... On the other hand, the Prototype could have killed CatNap at any moment, why at that moment?

CatNap is a failure.

CatNap in the boss fight literally could've just gaven us no time to use the smoke. He could've rushed us....

We only learn that in Chapter 4. Before that he's presumed dead.
Anyways, this just means that the Prototype didn't use him as parts yet.

You shouldn't read things in the community knowing that spoilers would be all around the place. Complete all 4 chapters first, then you come back and you'll understand.

The prototype is know for being ruthless, when catnap failed to kill the player, catnap was no longer of use to the prototype. Also, I personally don't think catnap sacrificed himself, he was doing the same pose he did when worshiping the prototype and you can tell he was scared, I think catnap was just bowing to the prototype and he just killed him.

I think catnap wanted a quick death to end his suffering and he didn't want to face the same death as his child body so he asked the prototype to kill him
