Ive seen a few people saying they have fps drops even though they above decent specs. And the graphics are also pretty much the same for everyone from what ive seen. I wonder if the devs did an oopsie and updated the wrong port of the game lmao. this certainly doesnt feel intentional
If its permenant im downgrading the game idc. Theres also other issues too. The game looks like its permenantly on low graphics, chapter 2 menu doesnt save changes, inventory is broken, lighting looks bad or even nonexistant in some areas, game forces you to hold mouse to look around after pausing.. ive never turned the game off after an update so quickly, so much for being excited for halloween for this update....
I am disappointed with Mob right now. They need to fix all those bugs!
For me i cant even play chapter 2 anymore because it cant go above 20fps. But i was able to go till the game station and idk, the game looked a lot darker but at the same time the lighting felt it was on a low setting in some areas. Remember the teasers the spanish account posted on twitter? It doesnt look as good as those. And the poppy case room at the start has no lighting for some reason.
I know! Like, did Mob even test the chapter after putting those "updates" in before submitting them into the game to see what the rest of us would think? Because I don't think they did.
They should have and noticed that the update would cause all those issues and take those issues out of the update before submitting it.
It's understandable that they're focused on Chapter 4, but if they want to release an update for 1 and 2 they should do it well. Otherwise it's better to not do it at all.
But alas, Chapter 1 and 2 won't provide them with characters to sell 40€ plushies of, so they don't care nearly as much.
Agreed. They really need to look at the updates with chapters 1 and 2 and see that there are so many problems with it and correct them ASAP.
Edit:
Never mind. I had to start a new save. Whatever.. Linear game and short, so I don't care. Still annoying though and the game does look less detailed.
Funny how they removed the graphical settings menu, or is it just me? xD
The game used to look really good graphics wise before this update and was much more optimized, and yes they did remove the the graphics menu lol. Now "quality" is the only option and the game looks like crap even at best. Me and people theorize they just copy pasted the ps version on pc, didnt optimize it, didnt change the graphics, didnt change the menus, just straight up called it a "steam version", slapped it on pc like a sticker and made sure its at least playable. Chapter 2 looks a bit better with best shadows, however there are many bugs and the optimization is non existant
I have looked at comparison shots of my old version and compared to the new version. All of the menus are different visually and the graphical settings are definitely missing. Overall, settings have been simplified. The "merch" (merchandise) menu option is obviously not there, but that's unimportant compared to what affects the game and could be seen as an improvement.
The graphical quality is different in the lighting detail around reflections and shadows. Details are different in some places and something is off about the colors and texture detail. I haven't done a full check here, but this is definitely inferior quality to the earlier version.
