Cannot equip gas mask, chapter 3

I'm playing Chapter 3, i'm at an area where i need the gas mask again and I am unable to equip it. Pressing F does nothing, switching to controller does not work, restarting does not work. Unable to progress :(.

i have the same problem, devs need to check their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game before releasing it, you would assume that's self explanatory

if your playing after cat nap jumps you thats just part of the game and you basically just need to avoid the gas, unless u know for sure theres no other way out but ive seen youtubers who thought this too and still beat it. Its just part of the game, when catnap jumps you he takes the mask. Hope this helped

I cant even progress through the game, im still stuck on the 2nd floor of the house, ever since the game came out, I tried everything, reinstalling, replaying the whole game, i still cant get passed the part where you take out the battery from the big spinning smiling critter on the 2nd floor of the house. and now seeing the February 9th update with ALL THOSE bug fixes that i didn't even notice, yet none of them covered the gas mask bug, hence the reason i can no longer progress through the game, I was passionate about that 10$ I cared about the creators so much i didn't want to use steam unlocked, which i could have done, but the game was so well put i decided to spend my money on it, just to have an unavoidable bug. :c

Same happened to me and then I noticed that despite being in my inventory, the gas mask was back where I found it too, so I just needed to re-collect it.

Don't know if this will help, but my son had an issue putting the mask on. Before you start the game click the controller icon in the steam app and set the F key to what ever button you desire. He's playing on a steam deck and I set the F key to the X button and voila!

to be honest the devs will patch this up in PATCH 4

Its not a bug, it just seems 90% of you didnt pick it up when you got into the house. ive never seen an actual bug for this, because there isnt one. if you dont pick it up you are screwed.

u need to go back to pick it up from hole under the first floor in main room in house and it will work
