This a bug? What's supposed to happen here?

So I made it to.. is it the school or something? It's the first level where you put your arm around a pole to get power, the lady comes out and breaks the machine and a battery flies out. She only comes after you if you're NOT looking at her.

The first time I played I ran and she got me.

The second time I went through the level backwards, eventually she got me.

The third time.. somehow she got stuck and I went through a bunch of the level without her bothering me. It was fun. I made it to a part where I was in a room where there were holes for 6 or 7 batteries. No sign of that lady. However, I was going out to the store so I quit and came back to play later.

This time when I play the lady is following me now, and goes right through the gates that close. She's in the room with the 6 or 7 battery holes with me this time.

What behavior is supposed to happen in the game? Is she supposed to walk through the gates or not?

She's supposed to walk through the gates! And you got lucky you got the bug where she's stuck and was able to play it in peace.

I forgot I had this post up and made another.. I know how to make it so you can ALWAYS play the level in peace. Works every time.
