New Grab Pack not long enough

I get the new grab pack and purple hand. Bounce up outside that room and navigate through to the room with the two pylons and set them up correctly yet the arm is not reaching the first button. I know I am doing it correctly as I did it once and it worked but then had a fatal error and game closed...

after that i still have the new pack, unlock that room, go all the way back round to get trapped in that room because arm is no longer reaching like it should.

Currently live on Twitch and trying to sort it out with multiple restarts and nothing is working
