How to get past the purple flower bed area to the right of the map before dying?

There is a field to the right on the map just past a tower. I unlocked flying, but I still die as I try to get to what I believe to be a flask upgrade. I'm in what I believe to be the final two or three battles of the game, and it still doesn't let me through that area, which surprises me as I got to that zone many hours before.

I believe it's the alchemist that sells a potion that keeps you awake, since it's a sleep status
