Final boss.
This boss is absolutely cancer and f***ing unbalanced. I am playing as a vanguard with more than 1k hp and wielding a GS ( the big knight's GS ) i am also lvl 76.

I cannot kill him, i didn't struggle on any boss in this game up until now. How can i beat him??????? phase 2 is just too much to handle, there's gaps you can fall, the orbs chasing you, Mandragora's health that you need to monitor and assist her at the same time you have to deal with this cancerous boss. Honestly i don't know if i will have the patience for this garbage boss. I am literally close to Uninstall this game because i am fed up. There is no fun whatsoever in this final boss, its just frustration.

I am dealing 560+ dmg per hit and i am so slow with the GS. I feel like i am not dealing enough dmg to him, i also have bleed build which i feel its not that powerful.

Someone save me from Uninstalling this game because as i said, im literally on the edge. I loved this game up until now. What a S**T ass boss.

Your build sounds quite underpowered in several departments, which adds up to severe lack of dps, And dps is the key factor to beat phase 2 of the last boss comfortably, as you can just ignore Mandragora bar.

- Your level is way too low, even without doing any extra farming you should be somewhere around level 85 after clearing Crimson City and popping all the essences from inventory
- Bleed build is probably the weakest the vanguard can be, especially with 2hander.
- Greatsword is vastly suboptimal endgame weapon for non-hybrid vanguard, as Shredder gets obsolete by the end of Castle Drakken and there's no more STR focused greatswords after that. Greatswords actives aren't the best either, as you need full adrenaline for impale to shine, which isn't realistic on the last boss. Whirlwind is way better with hammers due to their higher base damage.

So i'd recommend those steps to improve your chances:
- Respec away from bleed and weaker adrenaline talents, get burning blood, fury and warriors might from pyromancer instead (don't take phoenix rebirth, as it's bugged on the last boss)
- Replace your 2h sword with either 2h hammer (illustrious battlehammer is preferred but even jotuns hammer will be better than shredder at this point). Dedicated greathammer active deals way better damage than impale, whirlwind is good too in 2nd phase. Or use 1h hammer from inquisitor boss + oathsworn shield (shieldbash active still will do more damage than impale)
- Consumables make this fight way easier: craft as many potions of shielding and magic absorption as you can, at this point these are just better than health potions and can be used before you get hurt. Top food helps as well.

Just once passed from the 30th last boss, indeed, to kill him you need to hurry, I killed him at level 67. Played with dual daggers, and pumped + - on Crit and Poison. It was hard because in the 2nd phase I fought with time. So the requirements of level 85 and above are nonsense. You can kill him at 60, the main thing is to hit and dodge more often.

I appreciate it but i actually killed him, finally!!! i was too exhausted. Impale saved my a** and i also got better gear and rings and managed to get my DPS up to 730 per hit, Impale was dealing 3.5k+ dmg now while he was bleeding. Thank f**k its over now.

3 days trying to beat the last boss - I wanted to give up - this game broke my mental and life balance - but finally I did it, victory, boss defeated - will finally be able to play .... what ? no game +, can't replay the game with my character - lol - just nothing lol
2h bonker here. I had the exact same experience as you. Final boss phase 2 is a major difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game.

first, I'm doing about 200 points more dmg than you per hit, so you may be slightly underlevelled. I also relied on bleed. Anyway, here's what I resorted to:

1. load up on magic absorb (very powerful) and major rage potions.

2. After beating phase 1, immediately chug a magic and rage pot then reset back to heals.

3. chase the boss and at all times try to stand behind him. I used a lot of jump strikes as they're faster and whenever I could I used my fully charged poke and slash skill.

I ignored the motes as they just chase you and only cause problems if you stand still too long.

3. after the jump and duck to avoid balls section, I chugged another magic and rage pot, gave the lantern a charge for as long as I could, then went right back to chasing and bonking.

It was close because I am bad at games, but it worked.

This was after multiple attempts where I barely even touched the guy.

Omg a dev?! Hi there! please dont take this bad, i love your game so freaking much, but we do really think that this boss is unbalanced, i eventually beat him and finished the game yesterday but it was really painful. Considering that i played Khazan, i did not struggle on any boss as much as i did on your final boss. I think the issue is the high damage, if you guys reduce his damage and leave everything else will be fine. I had 1k+ HP and he was literally 2 tapping me to death.

Devs sometimes forget we play videogames to have actual fun, not to feel the game like a frustrating job that eventually will be done. lol.

I did, because i beat him. Also grow up 8 year olds write that sh*t now.
Same for me, the 2nd phase is very hard/unfair for a melee only build (Nightshade) and I'm close to giving up. My impression is that the attacks are randomized and if you're out of luck and those two chaos balls chase you while you're supposed to jump the ones coming from left or right you just die. It doesn't feel like you can get so good that you win this fight every time. I've watched no hit videos but in those attacks like the one described above don't happen which make them lucky runs. Maybe you can force the patterns of the boss but if so I haven't figured out how.

Keep trying don't give up, I got him after 3 hours total. And yes all attacks are random so there's a bit of RNG involved. Also once you bring him down to 25-30% hp he will get stunned, take that advantage to use your most powerful attack on him to kill him. I was playing as a pure Vanguard with greatsword and i was spamming Impale on him, that was shredding him.

The worst part is not the boss, it's the disrespect for the player time making you waste time to reach the boss again. You can totally and easily ignore the enemies, why not get a spawn next to the boss?

Oh yes!!! i completely understand you, i hated that i had to walk every single time to the boss instead of putting a spawn point right next to him. This is literally dark souls style, then they learned in Elden Ring. I hope the devs will take note of this. This adds only annoyance rather than 'difficulty''

Like, I don't mind the "walk of shame" as a concept to incentivise trying hard in the fight, but it feels at odds with the "learn these patterns via trial and error" souls-like gameplay, especially when the dmg gets tuned up post-Braer Castle and bosses are killing you in 3-5 hits.
