My current astral / Vindicator / paladin build

( spoilers for mid to end game items )

From Vindicator tree :

- Astral mastery ( to unlock the tree )
- Faith ( mana on 5th basic attack )
- Gathering light ( more lightbrand chance )
- Unbreakable spirit ( more armor based on spirit )
- Overexposure ( deal dmg from lightbrand healing )
- Astral power ( dmg reduction )
- Elevated spirit ( more hp based on spirit, the displayed number currently is wrong, but works as intended, you can see the big hp increase )
- Eternal hope ( increased healing )

From wyld tree :

- Wyld mastery ( to unlock tree )
- Sic em ( when u max it +20 spirit, and u throw ravens when dealing wyld dmg, you can max it on the dummy in the camp )
- Nature grasp ( more root chance )
- Rejuvenation ( health and mana regen on wyld dmg )
- Eruptive brambles ( when root expire it deals explosion dmg )
- Venomous thorns ( root lasts longer )
- Boons of the hunt ( in fight u may get bonus armor or magic / physical crit)
- Splinter swarm ( when dealing basic attacks you have a damaging leaf / wind aura )

From nightshade tree

- Nightshade mastery so you can wield dual blades

I have equipped dual blades with lightbrand chance in the one weapon set ( Justicar dual blades ), the other has Cosmic balance astral relic and Azurewrath sword, on both weapons i have Astral runes stone for astral dmg and higher spirit scale

Hollowplate armor + 4 spirit and 4 Knowl. runes

High priest halo + 4 spirit and 4 Knowl. runes

High priest bracers

High priest legplates

Mender cloak

Gold heart ring, Shield ring, Ring of light, Entanling ring ( sometimes for bosses i swap him to Furion protection )

i have fully upgraded Consecration and Blessed weapon

As skills i use Consecration, blessed weapon most of the time
In boss fights i use Blessed weapon Consecration, Celestial hammers and Prism
Invigorate outside of battles, sometimes

Note that you cannot cast spells while using dual blades, so yes you have to swap sets of spells and sets of weapons sadly

Max spirit, some Vigor for equippment, some constitution for hp, some endurance for stamina

You dont even have to buff yourself every time or use consecration as basic attacks proc healing from wyld tree and lightbrand

All the equipment has + healing effectiveness, except for the armor as it has one of the best stats overall and the leggings ofc

i easily facetank everything, even bosses

You have to do a little hybrid to make it work, but using the Wyldwarden and Vanguard along with Vindicator trees can make a pretty good tank. Grab these particular major nodes.

Astral/Vindicator
1. Unbreakable Spirit. Lower Center of the tree. Gives extra armour for each spirit.
2. Healing Spirit. Mid Right on the tree. Casting an astral spell gives you a small healing burst, based on spirit.
3. Faith. Bottom Left. Gives you mana every 5th melee attack
4. Concentration. Far Center Left. Restores half your Barrier after 20sec of no dmg.(OPTIONAL)
5. Celestial Barrier. Top Left. Doubles Barrier from 15% to 30% of total health.
6. Light Capacitor. Far Bottom Left. Overhealing restores Barrier.

Fighter/Vanguard
1. Veteran. Bottom Right. Stacking % health bonus on kills.
2. Lifeblood Surge. Lower Center. Gives health on kill.
3. Blood Craze. Mid Left. Heals when your bleed ticks, based on Con stat.
4. Deep Wounds. Bottom Left. Gives a natural bleed on physical damage, and increases duration(works with Blood Craze)

Druid/WyldWarden
1. Sic'Em. Bottom Left. Gives you stacking Spirit stat when you deal wyld damage.
2. Rejuvenation. Lower Center. ANY wyld damage you deal gives you a stacking health regen buff.

With those skills, and any weapon that deals wyld damage(the one that looks like claws) and physical, you will continue to regen as you deal damage, apply bleed dot, and any overhealing is given straight into barrier so you have a buffer before health loss. I personally use ALOT of tanky armour(Defence, Constitution, Vigor) and stack Spirit as my main damage output. I have a one handed sword that does high wyld damage(Azurewrath) and use an astral relic to heal myself with Healing Spirit, and the two self heal skills(Consecration and Invigorate)

Basically, I spam basic attacks, every 10 seconds I tag a single spell to boost my barrier, and when I need healing between fights, I do a quick cast of Invigorate every few seconds. It only takes like 3mana, and I get the moderate heal, which for me is like 73. But thats just what I have now. I will continue to level, and I plan on picking up a few more skills to round out my self healing and tankyness.

Astral
1. Divine Intervention. Top Left. Gives you max barrier when you get low health every 3min.
2. Elevated Spirit. Top Center Right. Gives you more health per spirit.
3. Eternal Hope. Top Right. Increases all healing by 10%.

Fighter
1. Iron Will. Top Center Right. Take less damage as you get lower on health.
2. Armour Breaker. Mid Right. Lower enemy armour with melee, pickup scraps to raise own armour.
3. Versatility. Far Center Right. Increased Magic Res.

Druid
1. Cycle of Life. Top Left. Enemy kills might drop life orbs.
2. Guardian Vines. Mid Right. 20sec cooldown on a 35% lowering dmg shield. Its the same timer as the barrier restore.
3. Splinter Swarm. Top Center Right. Melee hits make an aura that deals wyld damage. Wyld damage triggers Rejuvenation.

Fire Mage
Phoenix. Top Center. Resurrection skill. Nuff said.

can you facetank last boss with your build? or enemies in Crimson city?
Prism and smite. That’s all you need

I honestly dont think that the games bosses are designed to be "face tanked" per se. Not at least like in normal souls likes. But I also havent got to the last boss. But as someone who has built a fair amount into tanking damage, and seeing what some bosses are capable of doing despite my tanky build, I doubt it will be possible to just face tank much of anything in this game. I wear heavy armour, and have stacked more Con, Vigor and Def than any other stat, and have over 100 armour currently, and some basic enemies still knock out over 200 health. I'm sure its possible to be MORE tanky, but that might require alot more time investment into getting more level and stats.

Not necessarily "face tanking" per se, but some classes do develop enough mitigation to comfortably take boss hits at various points in the game, except for a few really nasty ones like 2nd phase Auberon's invis bite. When I fought him as a Warden his 1st phase bite was dangerous, as a Vanguard it took just about 20% HP.

The final map makes armor much less effective though.

lol, yeah, that bat form bite takes like 40% of my health, so overtuned.

my build is essentially face tanking, ofc u swap weapon and spell sets and use potions, i use a meal for 200 max hp and potions for increased resistances for example

ofc the are enemies that lower my hp so i used the term facetank a little bit generous

if needed some of the rings could be swaped for more defensive ones

Your build sounds very similar to mine, and I am hitting points where I can facetank some groups of enemies pretty easily, and only require a minute or two after to fully recover. Lotta Druid/Cleric hybrid with a generous amount of Fighter.
