Nightshade help and thoughts
So my first char was a Spellbinder and most of the talents made some what sense.
One shot most bosses, and had no real issues with the game. (Other than bugs and jumping puzzles).

I am now playing a Nightshade and it is very different, i can still one shot a lot of the bosses. Just killed Queen of swords before going in to the 2nd jumping hell. But damn it takes a lot more work to kill bosses as the Nightshade, best guess is i am doing around 50% less damage.

First of, what is up with the poison? it dose little to no damage? One stack of poison dose around 11 dps, but a lot of the bosses has a high over very high poison resist.
And even if it did, why would i ever use a +poison item, when +crit dose the same?

Are all the poison talent points just a wast of time, should i just respec out of them?

I have a few points in to Wyld for Splinter swarm and Rejuvenation. Is there any daggers i can get at this point in the game that dose Wyld damage? And is there any good daggers later on with Wyld?

Is there ever any reason to use Envenom skill over Blazing weapon? The extra 10% scaling by upgrading Envenom is like around 8(?) points of damage with 30 dex. Not sure about this calculating, but best i can come up with when using damage numbers from the rune enchant menu.

And what point is it better to stop going for dex and big nodes and just dump all points in to crit? As in spending 12 talent points to get +16% crit.

Is there any really good talents in the Nightshade skill tree?

"Toxic pool", 3% chance to do 240 damage over 10 sec, if the mobs stand still? like wtf?
That is an average of 7,2 DPs, IF the boss stand still for 10 sec.

Nightshade is awful, I got stuck on marionettes and now I have another character that wiped that boss with firespells. Nightshade is underpowered... needs a rework.

I too started as a nightshade and made it all the way to the ice area and was like nah…. I’m done…. Winded up rerolling with a vanguard/flameweaver combo and it’s made a HUGE difference! I’m like a walking tank with the shredder sword and enjoying the game a lot more now!

You can buy spirit scaling daggers with a bit of wyld damage in the Witch Coven, so quite late game.

Edit: I finished the whole playthrough with Nightshade, it indeed felt a bit weak. I experimented with different skill paths and what ultimately worked for me was ditching poison altogether and focusing on crits, shadow step skill and in late game multiclassing with wylder.

Jeah rogue is just not good, esp poisons are far too weak. It seems like they have no scaling with your attributes, also most of the skills kinda suck compared to other classes.

Sadly but its true... Nightshade its weak, probably this class is the worst :D I try a a whole bunch of combinations with it and all of them are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weak. Even when i have a lot of % crit chance like 50 up, dmg still sucks ass XD. I though that last skill will help with poisons.... but no... poisons also suck hard. I have only like 3 bosses to end game but when i done it (hope soo) i will write a review about game and this class. Game overall its great but Nighshade need like instant rework cuz its weak in to many site - special skill which most of us never use XD, aful daggers and lack of good like rogue armors, weak poisons and 0 utility or survival skills.

Do you know if there are any dagger to be farmed from any mobs? I seem to have a hard time finding weapon upgrades.

Im lv 70 and still using Ataxia.

I was really hoping for some Wyld damage on my weapons....
Just finished nighstshade + pyro run yesterday, lvl 87. Zero poison, of course. King Priest was a 1st try faceroll thanks to 100% invulnerability uptime on shadowstep.
I was using eclipse until the end, that 1.4 stamina per attack is very important to keep unlimited attack loop from combo.

The one annoyance was dearth of good dex equipment post-midgame, had to use vampire archer stuff pretty much until the end. Still, it was very strong and fun to play.

I don't think there are any common mob drop daggers beside gremlin cutlass. The good news is 2 out of 3 lategame daggers are spirit-scaling.

i don't really want split scaling, as it sucks when it comes to the weapon enchant, as the weapon enchant is either physical or magic... but i would like to get more procs of rejuv, but not sure how else to do Wyld damage.

There are weapon oils that apply different elements to the weapon, including wyld, Later on, there'll be runes for each element that gives weapon this type of damage and switches scaling more into spirit+power.

I know, but the oils only last for a few hits, gets kind of annoying to apply. Also farming mats...

And the enchant that adds Wyld damage to the weapon also lowers the dex scaling so the damage will sucks i expect. I am not that far with my Nightshade yet.
One thing I would do different if I rerolled nightshade was not take the dagger dance skills. I have never been able to stack points up high enough to trigger the ability and I'm like lvl 69. I'm sure it's possible, but not practical for any fight I've tried up until this point. I don't know if it's possible, but ideally if we could get some kind of life steal ability with the build it would be pretty amazing. I spoke to a guy that has a video killing all bosses and not taking any dmg and he said he had like 50-54% crit chance which helped him kill bosses very fast.
Nightshade has been pretty easy and decent for me. I've been going posion, chaos,Pyro and have been melting enemies. With the help of crits adding poison and new poison stacks refreshing all poison passives, enemies have been just crumbling over for me. Paired with chaos causing weakness and chaos capstone that sends motes at weak enemies you add even more damage. And converting some chaos damage to Pyro, causing enemies on fire to explode and does fire, I never struggle with groups. There is a lot synergy even when putting everything into dexterity. Of course you will pick up points in power by going into spell trees but you are still doing a crap ton of physical damage with poison. Especially if you upgrade your skills that cause enemy poison resistance to drop when you activate certain skills.

Actualy, before comming to read what people say here i didn't know rogue where behind, ill just beat the game with mine whith really small struggle on one boss , but with the good build i just break him down. Playing evenom , back step ( dash behind with immune ) , just upgrade those two spell , finishing thé game lvl 85 , around 550 per hit , with 50% Crit chance and 1200 hp with no foods ( 2 gems with 150 hp on gear ) and the one who boost dex and Str on the weap. Before m'y switch i die on last boss 10 times , after m'y respect i just melt him down , only took soldiers HP% passive , and stam who give 15% else in rogue tree

Anyone who thinks the Nightshade is good has not played any other class to actually compare. Casters "melt" bosses before they can even do their mechs. All you have to do is spam a single spell while standing still, maybe dodge a handful of times, that's it.

Until I see a Nightshade video "melting" a Hollownight at level 35 without Detonate I'm not buying it.
