HORRIBLE UNBALANCED FINAL BOSS
I don't understand how you can ruin such an excellent game with such an horrible and absurd final boss, which is completely unbalanced . The archmage phase is almost impossible, the boss does a lot of damage, attacks repeatedly and doesn't even give you time to heal and has a life bar like that of a giant boss.

Not to mention the fact that I saw on youtube that there are also two phases and probably if you die on the second one you have to redo the first one too. Also there isn't even a save altar near the boss and every time you die you have to backtrack a lot, which makes it even more annoying.

I hate bosses where you have to attempt 100 times, but for this 1000 isn't even enough. I hope the developers will make a patch soon to at least make it slower and add an altar for saving right before the boss room. I sincerely hope that the first phase does not have to be repeated if one dies in the second.

The situation is so serious that I have already tried at least 30 times with terrible results, when I have certainly overcome all the other bosses in the game with a maximum of twenty attempts each. This can change a game review from positive to negative, because I will never see NG+ if this boss isn't nerfed properly

Now that I have beaten the first phase, the second one is far worse, as I thought. This boss really need to be reworked. It's a pain in the ass

lol this easy final boss and all these people just now getting to him and struggling and now on here crying

Guess they got tired of crying about lockpicks and the Eula
It takes 30 seconds to run to the boss room if you fail.

I think my biggest complaint is having to support your ally who is supporting you. I'm running a poison build assassin. I've got DPS, managed to outfit myself to where I have about 1200 HP or so but find myself struggling to balance refilling the bar with actually dodging the attacks.

I've played the entire game up til the final boss with normal difficulty (100% enemy attack and HP and stamina consumption) but finally cranked it down in the mandrake fight because even then I was struggling to finish it despite spamming toxin burst which is doing like 2500 dmg per pop. The stamina consumption on daggers feels a bit too high and i found myself, especially with some of the more aggressive bosses running out of stamina and doing the slow attack simply from all the dodging. Don't even get me started on how many times the extra distance from light equipment has tossed me off ledges when I roll.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the game and hell, even the forest giant only killed me 21 times which is my most deaths to any boss (Fang assassin took 12 attempts with 11 deaths) and I killed them both early on when I found them so I can do it, but man if this isn't fun.

I'm committed to this build and making it work but oof if my enjoyment the game hasn't diminished. It'd be one thing if i could focus on the fight and not worry about the ally but yeah...

That double wraith fight was another tough one since they can't be poisoned. Really neutered my build there, but I managed to beat them, even if I did only have 1 flask left. Consumables really carry on these bosses. You basically need to stack the buffs and use the shield potions cause holy hell..But man I am tired of the DPS checks. Dark rift was nuts with the leviathan and the HP scaling just gets nutty on even the trash mobs.

The first phase is easy as crap and quite fun imo because if makes the player use all of their traveral moves to avoid attacks. Now the 2nd phase is a pain mostly because you can't see his attacks as well when he teleports to the other platforms. Also I feel the rift bar should lower a bit slower them it currently does but overall I like the final boss fight.

If it's that easy do a lvl1 no hit speedrun then, must be ezpz right? A DPS check boss is only about build with no skill involved which is extremely boring.

Biggest problem with the final boss is running a melee build. You have to chase it around while also having to help with the lantern, while being blasted with a ton of different AoE.
Meanwhile magic can just burst him down in seconds from a distance.
It's pretty poorly balanced and playing melee in general is not a very fun experience compared to magic

My melee hits even as a caster were doing major damage. That one handed scythe Arakh sword. With an upgraded 50 damage vial

I don’t think yall are using your consumables and wonder why you fail.

Had the same issues with the boss, I'm not 100% sure but I think he is immune to bleed, the status effect I built upon with my main skilltree.

I didn't bother to respecc to mage because the balancing just pissed me off. So I also turned the health to 70% and it was still a really close call even tho I was able to spam him with melees a lot more due to the lesser damage I took and the lowered stamina consumption.
(lvl 90 btw)

Its just that rogue is terribly balanced. 2.5k damage for 3-4 combopoint investment that takes at least 5s+ to build and costs you almost all your stamina is just terrible. As a mage you can cast one spell and do more damage. Mana isnt even an issue in late game. I ran around with over 80% crit on my mage which meant that almost all spells regen most of their mana back with the ring that gives mana on crit. Even the extra mana on flask usage is so busted that every flask almost fills you whole mana bar which takes ages to deplete already.

I'm usually against the "get good" philosophy, but the boss really isn't that bad. Yes, it's a lot tougher than most of the other bosses, and the run-back is annoying because you're supposed to spawn in the throne-room after dying (happened 1-2 times for me), but it bugs out and resets you to the last checkpoint.
It took me 5 attempts to kill him, with a regular Warrior mace+shield build at around level 80.
what's annoying me (other than phase 2 being a stupid dps check) is that the platforms definitely have the grabbable glow to them, yet I plummet to my death straight past them.
And at this point I don't even know if that's a bug or intentional game design.
Devs, if you wanna copy Hollow Knight platforming so bad, you do remember pitfalls there were a 1-dmg respawn, yes?

If you want to trivialise the last boss then Spam those potions that absorb one instance of damage
Horrible no skill players !
