Guess they got tired of crying about lockpicks and the Eula
I've played the entire game up til the final boss with normal difficulty (100% enemy attack and HP and stamina consumption) but finally cranked it down in the mandrake fight because even then I was struggling to finish it despite spamming toxin burst which is doing like 2500 dmg per pop. The stamina consumption on daggers feels a bit too high and i found myself, especially with some of the more aggressive bosses running out of stamina and doing the slow attack simply from all the dodging. Don't even get me started on how many times the extra distance from light equipment has tossed me off ledges when I roll.
I've thoroughly enjoyed the game and hell, even the forest giant only killed me 21 times which is my most deaths to any boss (Fang assassin took 12 attempts with 11 deaths) and I killed them both early on when I found them so I can do it, but man if this isn't fun.
I'm committed to this build and making it work but oof if my enjoyment the game hasn't diminished. It'd be one thing if i could focus on the fight and not worry about the ally but yeah...
That double wraith fight was another tough one since they can't be poisoned. Really neutered my build there, but I managed to beat them, even if I did only have 1 flask left. Consumables really carry on these bosses. You basically need to stack the buffs and use the shield potions cause holy hell..But man I am tired of the DPS checks. Dark rift was nuts with the leviathan and the HP scaling just gets nutty on even the trash mobs.
Meanwhile magic can just burst him down in seconds from a distance.
It's pretty poorly balanced and playing melee in general is not a very fun experience compared to magic
I don’t think yall are using your consumables and wonder why you fail.
I didn't bother to respecc to mage because the balancing just pissed me off. So I also turned the health to 70% and it was still a really close call even tho I was able to spam him with melees a lot more due to the lesser damage I took and the lowered stamina consumption.
(lvl 90 btw)
Its just that rogue is terribly balanced. 2.5k damage for 3-4 combopoint investment that takes at least 5s+ to build and costs you almost all your stamina is just terrible. As a mage you can cast one spell and do more damage. Mana isnt even an issue in late game. I ran around with over 80% crit on my mage which meant that almost all spells regen most of their mana back with the ring that gives mana on crit. Even the extra mana on flask usage is so busted that every flask almost fills you whole mana bar which takes ages to deplete already.
It took me 5 attempts to kill him, with a regular Warrior mace+shield build at around level 80.
And at this point I don't even know if that's a bug or intentional game design.
Devs, if you wanna copy Hollow Knight platforming so bad, you do remember pitfalls there were a 1-dmg respawn, yes?
