Nighshade / rogue build?
Hey is it just me (and 1000 random people) or Nightshade is extremely bad character? You are using just two same skill which you have from the beggining (rest are useless). You must use only from that "rogue" skill tree, because you cant use anything with mana or rage, so you enjoy like 10% of the game. You must use only daggers, nothing else works with skills and as a last "bonus", just because you are not tough, you dont have even dmg, like wtf.... or do I do anything wrong and should change my build like... from poison, to only critical or who knows what?

Or will there be buffing in next patch? @Developer?

Hey, start by posting a screenshot of your skill tree, and let us know what weapons, gear, and runes you're using...
Hm, isn't equipping a relic grants you some mana pool? I didn't try myself but why not?
Nightshade is pretty good, just not straightforward to build. You'll need survivability(right) part of pyromancy tree to be comfortable. Ditching envenom for burning blades also helps, much more convenient.
In fact, poison part of nighsthade is nearly useless against common enemies, but crit+combo is good.
Shadowstep is one of the best actives in the game, with proper support you'll have almost 80% stamina+invulnerability uptime.

You need to Grabeling hook, then do the Vampire quest, look in your quest log and mark it, to see where to go look

Hope it helps. :)

No, you get it in the next town over.

If you are having a hard time with that boss, you can explore and level up the blacksmith.
He will be able to craft two different types of "high" level daggers, if i recall correctly, at level 6 and 7.

But in general, that witch fight is not that hard, just take it easy, stay close to the boss and never run out of stamina so you are ready to dodge.

Just finish last boss with nightshade. After many respecs , I still find Envenom and shadowstep is the only good 2 skill and end up using only it. What I find most frustrate is dagger in this game is only slightly faster than 1H-sword and use up almost the same stamina. It's not the same as dex-build from other games. It's definitely not the best character but still can get the job done somehow. (If you have enough patient)
I struggled a lot with the Nightshade in the last level and especially with the final boss. Be sure to put a lot of points into critical attacks and damage, that's going to save your behind. Or do it like me and go for a solid two handed sword and the fully upgraded impale skill in the end for maximum damage.
Not being able to block/parry and having no ranged attacks makes the Nightshade a pretty limited character in a game where you already don't have an abundance of fighting options.

Blocking is terrible in this game, even as a Vanguard it shouldn't be done. Parrying is better, but it's still less optimal than simply rolling.

Nightshade does have Shadowstep and Blade Dance for limited invulnerability. The issue with the class is that for most of early game any other class is better. All earlier skills are either just ok or useless. Many talents are poison-related and poison is garbage. He's not doing any more damage than a Vanguard and is far squishier, neither is he offering any different gameplay. His attack speed is largely useless early on because of stamina issues and low stagger. Late game many of these issues disappear with the right build.

We're already working on improving Nightshade and are keeping an eye on all current and future feedback from you guys. Thanks a lot!

It's kinda underwhelming and starts to shine when you are at level 25-30. I'd suggest to get just the first node for the armor pen with stacking poison on the left side, then spec everything on the right part of the talent tree and going into the shadoweaver first 2 nodes for crit dmg and weakness.
You gonna see a big improvement. From there work on the left side of the tree, once you obtain shadowstep is gonna get even better. I had to respec 3 times to find a good spec, get power nodes instead of dexterity.
I've tried also the flameweaver path, but to get the most out of it you need to cast spells for all the modifiers to apply. If you get the plague doctor set, I'd suggest to wear that since it's going to give you all the stats needed for the build.

Hey Nerghul, can you please explain the 2 nodes on the spellbinder tree? I've found that "Nightshade” is quite lacking in toughness if you can't dish out the damage quick enough. Thnx in advance
Also, im on console, quite desperate 😅
