Find Auberon

Bro, where is this GUY?! Can someone draw the map and outline the route to take. I spent so many hours trying to find him. I found a rift which challenges you to clear our waves but struggled to get past phase 2. Please tell me this is optional to the main quest

The rift is the way

From the Left Wing go left or right, then climb. Left path has a secret passage blocked by some wood you can break. You'll see double doors in the room of paintings, go in, you'll be at Upper Quarters. There's a door to the left with an elevator that leads to Auberon but it needs power. Go out, then right from there til you get to a library. This is "puzzle" area, but the wheels also need power. For now just climb from the left stair to the right. You'll enter the Library Tower, go down and thru the bottom door to the left. It's another "puzzle" area. Beat the boss at the lower right, pull a lever leftside of the room, then turn the wheels in order. Then the elevator and wheels start working. You'll know what to do by then.
