There is no justification (and I read the developers 'justification' and I am entirely unimpressed) for not having it. It's as simple as this: the majority of new monitor purchases are ultra wide and it's new emergent technology that every competent developer can implement, easily, into their game.
They can say that I am 'niche' all they want. A. it's a lie and B. i don't care.
I have money and I HAD this game wish listed.
I want to buy this game.
I will NOT buy it without ultra wide support.
I made this post for the developers to see that they are leaving money on the table. If they care good. If not then I will move on and purchase someone else's game.
I do not care what contrarians have to say because their opinion is of little to no value.
Good. Then move on.
But as someone who actually sees electronic purchases on a near daily basis, I can tell you, Ultrawide consists of MAYBE 20-30% of new monitor purchases.
You won't be missed. Maybe in 10 years ultrawide will be thing. Currently it's not even worth an eyebrow raise.
Then don't buy it and move on. Simple as. Not every game is going to give you everything you want, and if you think otherwise, then you need to grow up and stop being so entitled.
Flawless Widescreen and ReShade are ones some friends of mine use.
I've been using it, and only have a few issues:
- the black bars for letterbox,
- any effects meant to dim the screen only work in the 16:9 area,
- the hud doesn't go to the edge,
-solid white sidebars while creating characters or adjusting options on the title screen
Here's the fix:

It's not as huge an advantage as the devs claim. It doesn't make getting to the items easier, just because you can see them. I think it looks good on my curved OLED ultrawide.
Or is this going to be another situation where the dev says 'it's impossible due to x and y' and then some random guy makes a fix in an afternoon
😑👍
