Steam Deck?
Will it be playable/optimized for steam deck? I’d love to pre-purchase, but not if there’s no work currently to adapt it to that system.

From Discord server, by one of devs:

Sorry, Steam Deck is not yet supported. I have to say it is a miracle it even launches on it. The full game will support Steam Deck, the performance will be much better, and the UI will be adjusted for it

Note that this was from a year ago, so the game may be already supporting Steam Deck in its preview 1 or soon-to-launch preview 2 build.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yes, the game will be SteamDeck compatible! You can find more info in our post from earlier today!

Denuvo is going to play havoc with the Steam Deck's offline mode. I'm not sure if it's the version of denuvo in use, but the one in Persona 5 Royal somehow manages to see up to (5) different machine ID's from the Steam Deck (I tested this on both LCD and OLED), that change randomly on every cold boot, and when the machine ID changes, denuvo will delete the 'invalid' token and use an activation to get a new one. And if you are in offline mode (like, on the Space Station for example), it will delete the token and then ask you to go online for 1st time run, thus locking you out. (there is a workaround for this, involving setting the token to "read only", which will force denuvo to get a new token in an "Alternate" folder, and then setting THAT one also to read only, after the game launches with it, then you have two (of 5) chances for the machine ID to match one of the two tokens next boot, without them being deleted (if neither one matches that boot, the game will just exit).

This issue doesn't happen if you are running windows on the Steam Deck, so it's an issue with SteamOS and some low level interaction denuvo identifies.

I will wait till denuvo is removed from the game after the first release month.
You're going to have problems with offline mode working AFTER a cold reboot unless the devs actually DIRECTLY test this functionality--and this isn't something you can do with just 2 or 3 cold boots (power on/off)--you have to do it MULTIPLE times and make SURE denuvo doesn't detect a different machine type. I've probably wasted 30 activations already troubleshooting this with Persona 5 Royal.
Ugh, Denuvo and Steam Deck. Not a good comboi in my experience. But then again Denuvo means I won't be buying this anyway. I've held off on Helldivers 2 for the very same reason -- and when it finally gets removed there, if ever, I'll probably have moved on to greener pastures. Same here.
I’m experiencing a black screen whenever I try to play on my deck. I wonder if this is Denovo?

There is no Denuvo in the game.
And the game works on Steam Deck, lot of people are playing it on Deck. I have been trying to help you in various threads, but I think you should contact Steam support, as the game itself is working, so it might be something with your particular Deck.
I believe this response may confuse people who stumble upon this thread without seeing the news. So, I'll clarify: there's no denuvo anymore. It was removed from playtest, and wasn't integrated into the demo to begin with. So, both comments #4-7 and #9 by Krisz are true, in regards to game having denuvo or not.

The announcement about removal: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1721060/view/534345939582714003?l=english

And I appreciate the help however, in my latest post, I stated that I’ve tried it now on two of my steam decks and both produce the same issue with the black screen. There was also someone else in the thread that said they were experiencing the same thing. I was just speculating. It could be something else? I’ve never had a problem on any other game and I have several hundred in my library.

Yes, that's me with the same black screen after the logo.

I appreciate the response to show it’s not just me. It sounds like it does run fine for most people, but there’s clearly still issues. Hopefully this can be resolved before full release.

I'm thinking more like a missing file or a bug in our decks, because there would be more people with us if that was the game.
