Ill mod it in, i dont care if im beeing "fair" to others in their own singleplayer games, like...what.
Extremely unfair? The enemies can be difficult enough to fight at times. I don't think knowing where they are would make things that much easier. It's like Dark Souls. You can see enemies a ways off but you know you're going to have a difficult fight on your hands. Simply 'hiding' the enemies from the player doesn't make a good experience and ultrawide certainly wouldn't ruin it just by allowing to see an extra 500 pixels ahead.
Also showing more of the puzzles? Why would you design your game to intentionally hide puzzles from the player? It makes no sense. A player should be able to see all of the puzzle in order to figure out how to crack it.
I genuinely loved playing your demo, It's a fantastic game, I WANT to give you my money so I hope you reconsider your stance and view on ultrawide for this one.
I'll keep it wishlisted and my fingers crossed.
Can you provide one example of 21:9 ruining a puzzle in the demo? I'd like to see this for myself. Just one.
Hardly entitled. We just want to be able to play the way we want to in a nice game.
What do you mean by this? "And again there's the issue of rooms that wouldn't fill a 21:9 screen anyway". I really don't understand what you mean here.
As for graphical issues, of all the games I've played that are in 21:9, including indie and even side scrolling indie games, there have never been graphical issues. When MODDING in 21:9, there has only been one game that has had a graphical glitch where NPC's moved at 2 FPS. That's it. I hardly think this game will glitch out so bad if it filled a 21:9 screen.
And the example I want, yeah, there should be an example in the demo right? There's enough content there. There must be something there you can use to prove that 21:9 wouldn't work in this game, right?
There is likely (I believe the demo has some but can't remember) to be rooms that wouldn't horizontally fill a 21:9 screen, so what should they do with those ? Redesign them specifically for the ratio ? Zoom the camera and as a result give a disadvantage to ultrawide players ?
What ? You're really serious ? I'm not the freaking dev. But said freaking dev did tell you there would be content ruined, but you don't trust them. That's where the other part of the entitlement lies. I'd be fine with asking for some visual flavour to hide the harsh transition of black borders, but if the devs truly believe 21:9 and higher will ruin the experience, don't ask them to compromise their game and be fine with mods. But again, asking for a better 16:9 transition than black border, I'm okay with it.
no UW, pass, what a fail in 2025
So the devs should rebalance the whole game around you guys? Just for this tiny fraction of the playerbase?
If this was GTA6 triple or quatruple A, mainstream made by a gigantic dev, than it would be okay to complain, but you sound like entitled brats right now, whats next? People with VR gear will complain too?
