I'm one of the developers of the game and I didn't know about Tone Rebellion. I had to Google it. But yeah, it's quite similar :) It's cool to see it has resource management and building and also defense mechanics. Also the floating characters. Even if Illuminaria is not a huge game, it is fun and it was a nice flashback to my Tone Rebellion teenage years :P Thanks and keep on adding content! ;)
