I don't know about best but this is what I used the whole time. I didn't really pay too much attention to the system until late

I mostly focused on stacking Effect Duration and ST related stuff because I liked using a bunch of the buff magic. I'm not sure if Effect Duration applies to the follower summons as well but I liked using those too. Also Coin Earned because money = power especially in postgame. I didn't actually end up upgrading any of my scales because I was saving the money for keys and alchemy kits lmao

Off topic, but where do you find the scale pan in chapter 7? It's the only one I'm missing, and I've searched every room.

I think that one is the one hidden in a rock formation on the right of Anesta. You have to hug the top left of the rock I think for a hidden entrance and drop down for the chest

Just checked and realized I had already gotten that one and completely forgot that I picked it up lol. In that case I don't know which chapter I missed the pan in. Guess I'll have to take it one room at a time. :(
