Thank you very much. I've tried the fix and while it helps during the gameplay, the game still stutters whenever any window is opened, including dialog windows.
No problem. I'm sorry It does not work entirely you may have to play around with dgvoodoo some more or poke around with the compatability settings some more depending on your system.
without the dialogue and textbox fps-drop/slowdown/stutter. 🌟
The solution by @Rogal is kind of correct, but not complete.
Lets tackle the widescreen fix first:
Use "pcgw" (without quotes) to unlock the archive's files.
Now let's tackle the stutteringly slow dialogue/textbox issue:
Its version may have changed by the time you read this guide
Don't change it to windowed unless you follow the OPTIONAL step in (9.)
This is useful to quickly force the game to fullscreen if it hops into windowed.
Windowed gameplay is...not good, and your mouse position is invisibly offset and stuttery.
Final notes:
- You can hit the "+" button a bunch of times to speed up the game a little.
- I also set the ingame resolution to its highest: 1024x768
- Sometimes, if your configuration is different, dgVoodoo will "cage" your mouse into the top-left area of the screen, despite visuals being still centered.
- Remember the now useful Alt-Enter shortcut.
It worked, thank you sincerely... Do you happen to know how to incease the size of the texts ? they are really small and they make my eyes burn after some time...
