At around 4 stacks of lifesteal, most 1-cost spells are free, 6-10 stacks for other skills. If you get the appropriate skill from Hades or Sekhmet, your risk factors drop significantly, and become more about ending with your health at a level that be safe while you setup in the next battle.
Berzerker + Physical Non-Green Class + Card Draw

Berzerker + Paladin + Magic w/ Card Draw

Berzerker + Green Class + Healing Class (just in case / for early game?)
Mage has a single card (with gem) infinite combo, once set up. Even without the setup, it's a strong splash into high-cost or x-cost decks.
Peak performance might not always BE Mage or Berzerker, but it definitely revolves around them.
My blanket fix that I think would help with overall balance, as well as give room to swap red energy into something that feels like it can keep up with the other types:
If something's mana cost has been reduced, reduce its energy gain by the same amount (minimum half, rounded up).
If something's casting cost was converted to health, reduce its energy gain to half, rounded up.
Paladin + Berzerker makes anything safe as a combo and opens it up for infinites.
