If you had tried to use them, Colt would tell you "you can't use this" ;)

for DX, all Gemini Pots matter. Every single Gemini Pot has a minimum of -1 Stress reduction at the beginning of the month. so 10 pots would give -10 stress on top of the monthly item. Often this many are not needed, and if you're playing by exact numbers for the No-Rest Magic Banana method, then you need 3, 5, or 8 pots (for Likes/Neutral/Hates Tablets).
Extra are helpful since there are sometimes things difficult to plan for, like scolds or denying items that incur unplanned stress.
They can also allow you to feed cheaper foods if you have enough Pots to equate to feeding Tablets, or even more than Tablets.
