💡Requests and ideas for upcoming 0.6xx build
We’re currently working on the next big updates for First Dwarf and want to tap into the creativity and insights of our community to help shape the game’s future. In the upcoming updates leading to the 0.6 build, here’s what we already have planned:

💡 Difficulty Levels: New options to challenge players with tougher enemies and enhanced AI.
💡 Redesigned Tru: A refreshed look for our main hero to make him even more dynamic and visually compelling.
💡 Building Improvements: Further enhancements to make building mechanics smoother and more satisfying.
💡 The Fourth Island: Version 0.6 will feature brand-new biomes, a unique clan, and exciting gameplay opportunities.

In the meantime, we’re also implementing features and fixes inspired by your feedback. We regularly gather ideas from Steam reviews, discussions on Discord, YouTube comments, Twitter, Facebook, and, of course, this forum. Improving the game is a collaborative process, and your thoughts have been invaluable in shaping our priorities.

To keep things organized, I’ll start a new thread for each major update (e.g., 0.7, 0.8, 0.9). If something important doesn’t make it into the current build, I’ll carry it forward to the next one wherever possible. I am attaching entries and requests from the roadmap on Steam Community to this thread so discussions can continue here without the roadmap itself. Let’s see how this approach works, as it should help maintain clarity! 😊

I’ve also tidied up the pinned threads, removing outdated ones while keeping the roadmap visible in one place: the main store page. This allows us to focus on the latest updates without creating unnecessary confusion.

If there is something you would like to see added, fixed, or improved, or if you feel anything in the game needs attention, please share it in this thread! We are here to listen and make the game the best it can be.

Thank you for being part of this journey, and we can’t wait to hear your ideas! 🚀

Nice, bought the game with my Potatoe PC I'm looking forward to Nvidia GeforceNow being enabled when you have cloud saving working.

Good job at inproving the game, for the auto destruct/autorepair destroyed buildings I would rather choose the option to auto rebuild. Because otherwise you would lose track off which building is destroyed and néed to be replaced. For the settlers aspect maybe some kind of food/farm system, dwarfs can't live of mana I guess. Otherwise I like the way this game is going and I am excited of where it will go. Keep up the good work

Valid points! Thanks for the feedback and support :D

Yup, we want to give the option to build more than one wall at a time also, we hear you:)
Hope this will apply to mana lines, as well. Like if you try to connect one building to another, and they're not within 3 squares of each other, have it auto-connect with as few mana pipeline segments as possible. Building pipelines 3 squares at a time is pretty tedious, especially with how far some of the buildings end up being from the mana wells (like the eskoim defense towers).

Hi! We've updated our Living Roadmap (now it will be really alive)! You can check it out! :D

Endless game sounds great!

would be neat if you could craft more item of same time. crafting is tiresome because craft window always closes

Thanks for always reaching out on public forums, it may be somewhat quiet here at times, but it is still much appreciated!

For the 0.6 update:

"Underground" mana pipes as a research item, for when we want to build more visually appealing settlements.

Maybe reposition the characters on the airship? The mech in its stowed position, Tru at the helm and Ragna on lookout at the bow, like on the main menu. Right now, no one is actually flying it.

Being able to get more colonists if we have open houses would also be great. Or to carry over the full feature request from the announcement thread:

Like assigning settlers to buildings to improve efficiency, assign settlers to repair/rebuild structures or guard duty, building more houses to get more settlers, building more wells and community huts to keep them all happy... Something that drives us to invest time into growing and improving our settlements instead of it being a "once-off" sort of thing.

Totally agree, we have a lot of things to craft (and will add more) and crafting queuing is very important mechanic for us to add. We will try to add it in new update, if we don't make it, we'll add it in the next one.

Thanks for the feedback!

We do plan to introduce some light settlement management elements, but our goal is to keep them accessible and not overwhelming. Without revealing too much, the idea is that after the initial phase of settling colonists, the game will transition into a stage where you collaborate with village clans to develop your characters. This progression will prepare them to face the source of the taint. After completing the main storyline, the game will move into an endless phase where you can protect, nurture, and expand your settlements further.

Before that, in the upcoming 0.6xx-0.700 updates, we’ll introduce more secondary characters who will play important roles in the story. Along with them, we’ll slightly increase the number of settlers. However, it’s not just about the numbers; the real focus will be on the depth they bring to the story, quests, and relationships with these new characters.

Your suggestion about repositioning the characters on the airship is fantastic! We’ll implement it in one of the next two updates, which are coming quite soon.

As for the invisible mana pipelines, I personally am a gamer that likes to decorate and make everything visually appealing:) So I want to include things like that for those players, now we are focusing on making the game better but we will add things like that for sure!

It is my personal goal to give outlet for that type of players cuz I am one of them :)

Sounds cool. I'm looking forward to what this game will become. There's something about it that just makes it very likable and fun, apart from its unique setting. Driftland was the same and you clearly haven't lost your touch.

Another small request: Currently all enemies give the same XP, should tougher enemies not give more?

Anyway, I also see that the game's rating has entered mostly positive territory on the store page.

Im working with our programmer on enemy tiers so they can spawn in more challenging variants, those variants will give more xp. But all enemies will get an xp update and will depend on the enemy type and tier. Thanks for feedback on this!

Yes, the game recently received 70% positive reviews :) It happened around Tokyo Games Show and it help us release some stress, but we still have a lot of things we want to fix and add :O We hope you and other players will like upcoming updates!

If you have more feedback or questions feel free to post them on steam or you can ping me on our discord for almost instant answer (if ill be around my pc or phone:D)

Hey everyone! 👋

Just a quick heads-up that in about a week and a half, we’ll be rolling out a major update as we transition from the 0.5x series to 0.6x. With this update, I’ll be closing this thread, as we’re wrapping up the feedback collection for the current version.

For 0.6x, you can expect some exciting additions, including the brand-new fourth island, a fresh clan, plenty of fixes and tweaks, and, of course, improvements inspired by all the amazing feedback we’ve gathered from reviews, Discord, and other threads here on Steam Community.

Once 0.6x drops, I’ll open a new thread dedicated to collecting feedback for the updates that follow. So, if you have any final thoughts or ideas for 0.5x, feel free to share them here soon. Thank you all for helping shape the game, and I can’t wait to see what you think of the next big step for First Dwarf! 🚀
