Bison is the absolute best pet for creating a high-stats unit. Since it scales itself you don't need to clog your team with a low-stat scaler like a monkey or a penguin (although the penguin is in the majority of my wins, so I'm hardly saying the penguin is weak). Being able to deploy and begin scaling a bison early on is usually a guaranteed win, albeit that scenario is pretty rare. Once you have a highly scaled team, you can basically only lose in one of two ways: A skunk chopping off all the health of your kingpin, or a team that's even higher scaled.
Turkey is basically the only way to make a token build viable in the late game. You won't see an enemy team with tokens that doesn't include the turkey because there's no way to succeed into later turns with a token build without it. Combining it with a parrot or a tiger cub plus a sufficiently convoluted token team (typically one that summons a lot of tokens, like sheep, chicken, etc) means you can just completely overwhelm the enemy, and since a level 3 turkey + a level 1 parrot or tiger cub will provide a total of +12 to both stats, a hippo won't be able to outpace the damage and a rhino won't be able to knock out all your tokens in succession, even if either one is at level 3. Effectively the only way to beat a combination like this is to snipe the turkey early in the battle with something like a dolphin, but at the same time, the turkey will almost always have higher health than the token-generating units, so you won't even be able to do that.
I think though that I have to say the turkey comes out on top, because if you put a super-scaled team with a bison against a strength in numbers team with a turkey and a parrot/tiger cub, the turkey will usually win through sheer numbers alone. Dealing lots of damage doesn't matter if you can only attack one creature at a time, and chili won't help against a turkey of level 2 or greater because it only does 5 damage at a time.
