DLC pets vs non DLC pets
Is it me, or are most of the DLC pets simply not worth it? I downloaded them and it feels like I'm playing in some sort of "challenge mode". They all seem very conditional. Most early ones affect the pet shop pets, others provide only a temporary round bonus, while others only specialize in certain conditions where you would be at a disadvantage anyhow.

I mean, given the current tactic of stacking health on a fish until you have an invincible round 10+ tank, sacrificing those high health pets for a pet shop pet who gained a couple +1s from feeding a beetle, is a death sentence. Another gives a bonus if you have 3 gold left, which is an RNG on top of the current RNG. Another gives a bonus if you have less than 5 on your team?!

When do any of these actually work????

Just bought DLC, after being a free player for a long time, and DLC is OP. Tier 1, you get pets that give PERMANENT stat upgrades to other pets. The giraffe is tier 3 or 4, which... RNG determines if you get it early.

So... after finally spending money, it's the worst case scenario. Paid is better. Paid will win you a game. There will always be people contesting that is not the case, but... really... basic understanding of how to play and then add your wallet, and you will almost always win.

DLC pack starts weak, but ends strong. It has a lot more scaling options, so most of its value doesn't come into play until later in the run.

Caterpillar + Turtle in paid deck is about as common as Bison + level 3 tier 1 in normal if you are looking for an easy auto win. Just scale one unit to 50/50 and it becomes 50/50 too. Turtle is mostly to counter the special effect only in the paid pack that overwrites food.
