Ran into issues right away

I just started my first game, got to an island and crafted my first tools. Followed the suggestions onscreen and got to the point I was to open my backpack and drink the juice.
Well, nope. The E button does nothing, and nothing else could be done either.
I could pick things up, sure, but the text never disappeared from the screen or changed, and once in the backpack nothing could be eaten, only dragged.
Finally just quit to start again, and the whole game hung.

I'm going to try again of course, see if things work better a second go.
Also wondering though, the arachnophobia setting? Do I check it to not have spiders and scorpions in the game, or is it set to off by default?

Adding to this:
Second try the game opened in a windowed mode I couldn't get out of. Tried anyway just to see if the game would work any better despite that, but instead I had an arm holding the backpack out through the introductory scene with the tape in the plane.
Tried to quit from there since it was clearly ever more bugged, and the game crashed again.

Will add also that the little report bug box provided in the game? (hard as it was to get to it in that weird windowed mode) It is much too small to describe issues when it cuts off that quickly. That could definitely also stand a little improvement.

Couldnt add rocks to make a campfire to cook.. The "place materials" button is the same button for smashing the rocks into shards! So good luck making a campfire.. I'm refunding until all these bugs are fixed

you have to hold E to eat food, not just press E, also the place items when you have a blueprint made up for example a campfire, i believe is the R key, so not the same as the E key, also the no spiders is set to off as default if you want it on check it, and then it replaces spiders with harmless flies

also just tested if your trying to make a stone campfire for example put the blueprint down, then to add stones you press the R key, to smash stones you press F, you must be doing it wrong as they are two completely different keys

I had exactly same issue.
restarted and now game loads on my secondary monitor instead.
plus get a data protection warning coming up from security software.

Well I did finally get the fullscreen to work, had to toggle it on and off in settings a couple of times before it took, but it seems fine now. Game still breaks on exit though.
Played again and this time no extra arm with the backpack through everything, and I could use E to eat. Some other instances the buttons were twitchy though and I had to circle around to the task before it worked.

Also I thought I had the arachnophobia settings set to flies, but I still got attacked by scorpions. Is the setting for flies filled square? Or is it empty square? I must have done it wrong somehow.

Edit: NM, I'm going to ask for a refund.
I'm spending more time fighting with the game to let me play it than actually playing it, sadly, and that's just not worth it. I might come back to check on this game further down the line when the devs have had the chance to iron things out.
