Free lad, FREE! Did I mention it was free?
It's not a pointless rip, it's a gift A GIFT! - man, how the heck do you celebrate Christmas?
Bye/
I'm not saying you are lying, because I have no way of knowing. I am however saying I hope for your sake that you are.
This game was released purely for marketing of Wonderlands. After they had already experienced how massive the hit to pc sales would be from Epic exclusivity with Borderlands 3 they still wanted all that exclusivity cash but needed a way to get back some of the sales lost.
Their solution was to rip out the dlc that Wonderlands is a follow up to as it's own game which required almost no effort on their end so had practically no cost at all. They then gave it a low price but released it at 100% off to drum up hype for Wonderlands. That part at least was smart. A lot of people dismiss totally free games as junk without bothering to even read a review first. A game at a huge or even total discount however, that they'll check out. They did a few patches since then helping with the balance of it as a standalone experience, but not much work has been put into it, as this game was never intended to make money. It was intended as a bigger than normal game demo for Wonderlands and to give them an easy 100% off discount for future sales that won't lose them any money since almost nobody was buying it when it isn't free.
